Staying at Rory's penthouse apartment was kind of dream coming true. The views from the balcony and rooftop jacuzzi were unreal. The interior was elegant, with very high attention to detail. Everything was exactly as in the pictures. The kitchen was shopisticated with all possible utensils, porcelains, and cutlery. We loved every bit of four day stay here.

We spent a carefree 3 weeks here and truly wished we could have stayed longer. This is a fantastic place run by incredibly warm and welcoming hosts who do everything to make your stay unforgettable. From the moment we crossed The Black Forest's threshold, we felt it: we are welcome. And it's not just the proximity of the warm sea or beautiful beach - above all it's the people. Owners are absolutely amazing people. They did not just host us, they made us feel at home. The hotel is located slightly off the beaten path, which guarantees peace and privacy. Just a few steps away, there’s a beautiful, wide, and almost empty beach – perfect for relaxing and swimming. The hotel provides sunbeds and umbrellas, and the sea is calm and pleasantly warm. We were absolutely delighted by the food – in our opinion, the best we experienced in Sri Lanka. Both breakfasts and dinners were delicious, varied, and prepared with great care. The menu combines traditional local flavors with more European-style dishes, always delicous. We left the choice of dishes to the chef, and it was the best decision – every evening brought a new and tasty surprise that we eagerly looked forward to. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. Wi-Fi works very well. The owners are happy to help organize trips, for example to nearby Pigeon Island or other interesting spots in the area. They are genuinely kind and dedicated – they made us feel completely at home. We wholeheartedly recommend this place – it was truly a special stay.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment and were quite happy with it. Each room had its own bathroom, and there was also a kitchen. All the rooms — including the living area — had balconies, which made the apartment feel bright and spacious. The location was fantastic. It took just 2–3 minutes to get to the pool and no more than 5 minutes to reach the beach. We were right next to the sandy area, so we could rinse our feet and jump straight into the pool — such a luxury! The pool itself was lovely and well-maintained. We didn’t use the restaurant much, but the staff were incredibly kind and polite throughout our stay. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Waking up to an ocean view and being able to get to the beach or pool within minutes made our stay very enjoyable. A comfortable place for a relaxed holiday.

During our Sri Lanka vacation, we stayed at the Amaranthe Bay Resort for the last two nights. The Junior Suite we booked was spacious and elegant, with the highlight being the Jacuzzi Bath – a perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploration. Adding to its charm, the balcony offered a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding nature, and we were fortunate to witness stunning sunsets over the nearby lake, creating unforgettable memories. Although the resort's large inviting pool was enjoyable, some sharp corners around the area caused minor inconveniences and led to an unfortunate toe injury. Nevertheless, our overall experience remained highly enjoyable. The hotel's convenient location allowed easy access to the ocean and beach, where we found several delightful restaurants for lunch or dinner. Inside the resort, we had the pleasure of dining at their lovely restaurant, offering reasonable prices and a varied, tasty breakfast. The staff was friendly and attentive, and while there was a minor disagreement about the exchange rate during payment, the managers handled the situation with professionalism, swiftly resolving any issues and leaving us with a positive impression of their commitment to guest satisfaction. Amaranthe Bay Resort's well-maintained and peaceful ambiance made our stay perfect. Affordable villa with a beautiful garden, a place to eat, clean swimming pool and very friendly owner. Breakfast is included, which is very convenient. We asked for laundry and room cleaning when we need it and everything was done perfectly. The territory has CCTV cameras and is totally safe. The swimming pool is cleaned every day. The owner gave us his grill to use and the BBQ was delicious. We could use the fridge and kitchen appliances all the time too. Villa is 10 minutes walk from the beach and we sometimes saw monkeys on our way there. The supermarket and the wine shop and various fruit shops are just by the corner. There are some nice cafes nearby too. On the balcony and at the pool I often saw palm squirrels and colorful birds.
