Really nice and friendly staff. Nice and clean rooms. Generous breakfasts and dinners with daily changing menues - the wagyu meat was especially good! Private spa with finnish sauna, steam bath, onsen water, cold bath, outside area and even a massage seat and included drinks was bookable for a small fee. Free coffee and tea available in the lounge (tea also in the room). Convenient shuttle service to the train station.

Very nice and helpful staff. The staff offers free transport to Monkey Park. Possibility of free individual access to the onsen on site (reservation required). This is a ryokan facility and you need to be prepared for it. Beautiful traditional finishing of the rooms. Very good and plentiful breakfast (also available in the room).

The service at this property was amazing. Not only were they very friendly but they also went above and beyond in many instances where we had trouble due to heavy snow. Definitely would recommend to anyone staying in Shiga Kogen and wanting to relax.

Incredible service and incredible overall experience. It's like staying in a fancy cabin in the snow. The lounge area with the giant fireplace is awesome, very nice food, very spacious rooms and first class facilities such as the onsens and indoor swimming pool. The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.
