ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD The area is quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views of the mountains and the desert. Great for stargazing too! Midway between BOTH entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. Only 15 minutes away from the famous downtown Joshua Tree with shops and local food and 25 minutes from Pioneer Town Less of a neighborhood, and more of an open desert landscape , Casper Cabin is located on private 2.5 acres of desert, so you feel secluded and private with a few other cabins around throughout, and none within shouting distance of our home. You will need a car. There is a dirt road leading to the cabin about a mile, can be a bit bumpy but just letting guest know, any car will be ok unless much rain can get muddy, Recommended an SUV, truck or car that doesn't have low ground clearance due to some soft sand on roads The place feels remote, yet, it is only 15 minutes from Downtown Joshua Tree. Ample parking on the property. Any car drives fine out here. After you get to Lear, do not use your GPS. Use the map that is provided by us. The last mile stretch is on maintained dirt roads. This has never been a problem for any of my guests. Drive normally, and do not slow down too much on the dirt. Note: If there has been much rain roads can get very muddy, keep that in mind we do not want you to get stuck! OUTSIDE is where we spend most of our time. Sitting around the fire pit enjoying the night sky or relaxing in the hammocks taking in the breathtaking views of the Mojave. Enjoying the cowboy pool and an outdoor shower to cool off after a day of hiking!
