Les Antigones was registered in 2019 as a new touristic venue on the island of Rodrigues. The premises were refurbished in the same year to high standards as required by Ministry of Tourism. We pride ourselves with loyal and excellent customer service and pay special attention to hygiene and safety. We are environmentally friendly, including the use of sustainable water storage facilities, and minimising the use of plastic in accordance with the island's environmental policies. There is a current prohibition order in Rodrigues that has banned the usage of plastic bags since 2014. Our mission is to ensure that your time spent at Les Antigones is pleasantly memorable, and our vision is to to establish a viable business within the local community.

The Tourist Residence 'Les Antigones' is located on the north coast of the island, at the exit of the capital Port Mathurin going towards Anse aux Anglais. 5 minutes walk from the bus station and 10 mins walk from the folk market, and 30 mins from the airport. The property is eco-friendly, surrounded by a lush lush garden with a myriad of native shrubs and trees. We are located very near the main town, on a hill that gives us tranquility whist offering a nice view over the ocean. Our proximity to the town centre make us quickly accesible to numerous shops and eating venues, including street food. There is a well equipped hospital nearby within walking distance, that offers reassurance for any unforeseen rare emergency, as the island is pleasantly very peaceful with a well established law and order system. Furthermore the inhabitants are uniquely friendly and hospitable. The property has recently renovated with noble materials such as the local stone and wood, bringing harmony in a cozy comfortable setting for your convenience.

Rodrigues Island is a volcanic island located 560 kms from Mauritius in the Indian Ocean, with a lagoon is twice its size. It is 18 km long and 6.5 wide. It is mostly mountainous surrounded by a spectacular looking reef. At the folk Market in Port Mathurin, the capital, you will find fresh vegetable and tropical fruits, cakes and sweets, stalls with souvenirs including craft and basketry. The famed chilli of Rodrigues is also available there. A replica of the extinct bird 'the Solitaire' is found at a nearby museum. Recreation: There is no lack including water sports like snorkeling with an approved school, kite surfing, big game fishing or trolling in a small boat. Tour operators offer excursions, including hiking/trekking, the Francois Leguat tortoise parc, cave discoveries, ziplines etc. Transport from the airport to the Residence, rental cars or scooters to explore the island as well as mini-buses for larger families are available by reservation.
