We always wanted a quiet and spacious place to live but in walking distance to the beach and the main road. We found the ideal spot in Cas-en-bas between a pristine beach and the fishing village of Gros Islet. Our property is almost 1acre and we planted tropical fruit trees and we can pick our own bananas, mangoes, papayas, cherries, limes and oranges. We built our house in a local style with locally made clay bricks and tropical hardwood. The furniture is handmade by a local carpenter. We live in a cottage on the same compound. Ideal for remote working.
My name is Gerald but everybody knows me as Shal. I am a born and bred St.Lucian and my partner Bea (for more than 20 years) is of German origin. I love nature and the outdoors and started a tour business (Jungle Tours) 20 years ago. We are specialized in rainforest tours & island sightseeing tours. I cannot live without music, my favourites are Country, Reggae and our local Creole music. I love animals and we keep our own horses in a stable nearby. I enjoy cooking, I am basically a vegetarian but I eat fish and seafood (pescetarian). I love to meet people from other countries and cultures and I would like to share our unique Creole culture with them. My motto: LIVE AND LET LIVE!
