For us, this project goes beyond offering a place to sleep. We have proposed to treat our clients as friends, giving them close treatment and taking care of every little detail to make your stay one of the best experiences of your time in Iceland. We also work as guides, and we would like to share our knowledge with you to improve and make your route safer. During breakfast, we will be happy to answer your questions and give you some tips on the map. We hope to see you soon!

Mengi Kjarnholt is 3.6 km (12 km by car) from the famous Geysir hot spring; actually, we can see it from here! Our location is unique, since we are in the centre of the lively golden circle but in a completely quiet and isolated place where you will find a haven of peace from your arrival to your departure. We are the perfect place to spend 2–3 days while you disconnect and explore the south-east of Iceland. This beautiful house was a farm; today we have turned it into a fully renovated guesthouse with the essence of tradition and the needs of today. Modern Nordic design and décor are featured throughout the property. We love art, and that is why you will find many works and paintings made by local artists, including the owners of the house. Bathroom facilities are shared, and a guest lounge is also available. The kitchen is totally equipped and is open until 22 h. We are surrounded by green fields with horses and sheep that will warmly welcome you. At Mengi Kjarnholt, you can enjoy mountain views from your room, relax on our terrace, enjoy some northern lights (if you are lucky) from the hot tub, or play a game of darts or table tennis in our barn.
