Portnoo is on the Wild Atlantic Way and is located on the northern shore of the Dawros Peninsula on the southwest coast of County Donegal. The local Narin beach is 2.5kms long and has a community based 4x4 motorised beach wheelchair and a hoist. Just 250 metres off shore is Iniskeel Island. This historic pilgrimage island can be reached on foot at low tide by crossing a tidal bank. The quaint Portnoo Harbour is just 2km from the holiday home and is a popular watersports base. Just over 2km from the holiday home is the Kilclooney Dolmen, probably the best preserved Dolmen in the country. The capstone is over 4 metres long and the structure is thought to date from around 3500 BC. Portnoo lies just 12 km east of Glenties and 10km north of the heritage town of Ardara. Both these towns have a good selection of pubs and restaurants. Just 6 miles south of the holiday home is the Sheskinmore Nature Reserve which is open to the public all year round. It is regarded as one of the most important nature reserves in Ireland and has been designated as a special area of conservation. Slieve League, one of the highest sea cliffs in Europe is approximately 40 mins from the holiday home.
