In the south-eastern part of the island of Faiakos and in the bay of Lefkimmi you will find the beautiful village of the Korakianites, Petritis.A modern fishing village which has been built over the last 60 years in an area with a strong history since the Byzantine years with many tourist infrastructures for quiet and family holidays.Entering the village,one will encounter huge plains with green trees and olive trees, colorful flowers in the residents' well-kept yards, the village church, the historic football field of the village team, Astera, supermarkets, taverns, cafes and one of the largest ports for fishing boats, as well as a small marina for docking tourist boats. Taking the main road of the village just before the beach, among the trees and pines, we come across the small church of Panagia tis Vlaheraina which dates to 1300. You can see the gate, on which the passing of time is evident, that leads you to the courtyard and the ruins of the Byzantine Tower which was granted to the Palatianos family by the then lord of the area, Petritis, where the village was named after him. Petritis beach is small and narrow with shallow water, suitable for small children.
