The Old Maple Lodge is a beautiful and stylish annex of an oak-framed house, located in the charming village of Riccall, 8 miles south of York. Overlooking the original pond of the old manor house, The Old Maple Lodge offers guests a luxury experience, complete with a king-sized bed, ensuite bathroom and kitchen facilities. Perfect for accommodating 2 people, the suite is beautifully appointed with opulent furnishings, and of course with access to WiFi and digital TV.
A creative, clean freak who is stepmother to two great kids, Tracie is married to Oli, a French chef ( thank god someone can cook!). As an interior designer Tracie may not be able to cook but can make the table look beautiful! We love travelling but like finding more intimate places to stay than large hotels.
We live in the main house within the grounds of The Old Maple Lodge and will be available if needed to help with guidance for visitors. Access to keys will be via a key box which will be located at the bottom of the stair on the approach to the annex. Privacy is offered if you would prefer no interaction but we are very friendly and will be on hand if you need us.
Riccall is a quiet and picturesque village surrounded by beautiful, open countryside. Its great facilities include 2 village shops, a local pub ( need to check if serving food at the moment), a lovely Italian restaurant and a doctors surgery. It is on the main bus route to York (25 min journey) and is ideally situated to explore the amazing villages and coastal towns of the Yorkshire Moors and surrounding areas. We are also only 10 minutes’ drive from MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet (also on bus route).
