This property is a detached cottage in Laugharne, Ideal for a 3 night stay. You drive very slowly up a cobbled lane and onto a bridleway, please be aware of horses. We are dog friendly. There is only horse traffic here and 6 wonderful walks. You can walk down The Longlanes to the Sea, Laugharne Castle, many pubs and restaurants. There is a wonderful walk under milk wood and round the Tav Estuary river. Birders paradise, Curlews, Egrets and the lone Heron. Take a picnic. We have a loft laddder to the loft bedroom. Just sheep, horses and bird song. By the Sea. Very quiet location. Next to St. Martin's Church. There is a secluded patio area with a BBQ. We have our own pure water supply. No need to bring plastic bottles of water. We have tin mug for public use and a dogs water bowl in the Longlanes. You can breakfast outside in private, in the morning sun. Have supper outside, there is another seating area in the afternoon/evening sun. Dylan Thomas's famous Birthday Walk around the headland. If it is your birthday whilst you are staying here and you can prove it, with a driving licence or passport, there are surprises for you in Laugharne. Free chips and beer!
Hello there, I'm Joanna and I live in a very rural remote location in Laugharne, South West Wales. My cottage is ideal for a three night stay, Friday to Monday. Or a four night stay Monday to Thursday. Laugharne is the very last remaining Township in the UK. We live next door to the graveyard where Dylan Thomas is buried. There are 6 beautiful walks from my house. Just down the lane, its a 10 minutes walk, to The Sea, Laugharne Castle and all the lovely pubs and restaurants. There is Dylan's Birthday walk, following the verses of his poem "Autumn" up the hill to St. Johns Hill. If it is your birthday and you can prove it, you can get free chips and beer!! The James 1st common land. There is a pre-Christian church a few miles away at Llandawke. A wonderful 3 mile walk circular around the Tav Estuary and the Sea, Birders will be spoilt by the Curlews, Egret's and a lone Heron. The bedrooms in my Longlane House B&B are names after 6 elements in Dylan Thomas's prologue. Chirrup, Quill, Fruit, Fin, Flute and the bathroom is Froth. Now is that froth on the sea or on a pint of beer?
Really wonderful restaurants, cafes and pubs here. All in walking distance. The Browns Hotel. The Three Mariners. The Cross Keys and The Fountain Inn. Portreeve Pizza Place. British and Poon's Thai, American Dexter's Steak House. The Owl and Pussycafe is a fabulous cafe, very dog friendly . The Castle Fish and Chip shop.. An Ice Cream Palour. Charming bistro/deli called The Ferryman, specialising in occasional evening Tapas
