Nestled on a pretty peninsula, Gareloch Cottage is a relaxing escape for couples and small families. Our inviting 1820s home blends its original Victorian character with comfy, stylish interiors. The double bedroom opens onto the elevated front terrace, where you can enjoy stunning panoramic loch views – perfect for sunrise coffees or stargazing. With Loch Lomond, the West Highlands, Glasgow, and Stirling all nearby, it's the ideal spot for exploring or just chilling by the water. Located in a semi-rural location yet close to local amenities - there's a food store and cafe within walking distance of the house. GUEST INFO: Suitable for up to 3 guests (children aged 7+ years). PARKING: for one vehicle on the driveway - plus free parking in the layby opposite the house. COTTAGE LAYOUT: GROUND FLOOR: Open plan layout consisting of dining and living space with adjoining Snug (with additional small settee and wardrobe). The modern bathroom leads on from the Snug and has a bath shower with overhead powerful Rain forest shower head and heated towel rail. The bright small galley kitchen is set up with a cooker, dishwasher, microwave and Lavazza coffee machine and there's access via the back porch into the private back garden. FIRST FLOOR: The double room has a double bed and there's a small adjoining dressing room with full length mirror and storage area. There is direct access to the terrace so you get great views from the room. The single room overlooks the peaceful back garden. Both bedrooms have blackout blinds for night time sleeping. NOTE: There is a short winding staircase to the first floor - if you have mobility issues this may not be suitable for your requirements.

The cottage is convenient for many local amenities, day trips and exploring further afield FOOD STORE: A local Co-Op, open 7 days a week, less than 10 minutes from the house. LOCAL TRANSPORT CONNECTIONS: Bus routes: direct from the house to Helensburgh Train station: at Helensburgh with direct journeys to Glasgow and Edinburgh Glasgow Airport: approx 40 mins drive NEARBY CONNECTING VILLAGES: Cove, Garelochead, Rosneath, Kilcreggan - local cafes, restaurants, food stores DAY TRIP IDEAS: TARBET & ARROCHAR: Situated in the Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Nearby Arrochar is overlooked by the “Arrochar Alps” and marks the gateway to the Argyll Forest Park. DRYMEN: A picturesque village in the direction of Stirling with cafes and pubs. It's on the hills at the western end of the Campsie Fells. Gateway to East Loch Lomond and links Balmaha, Rowardennen and Ben Lomond. BALMAHA: Further along from Drymen (so you can visit both in one day). Easy to park and with a good local cafe and restaurant, it's a great base for climbing Conic Hill and exploring the island of Inchcailloch. LOCH LOMOND AND THE TROSSACHS NATIONAL PARK: You can spend days exploring here! There's something for everyone including local ferry rides and outdoor pursuits. Take picnics in good weather and don't miss the idyllic Loch Lomond shores. LUSS VILLAGE & BEACH The picturesque conservation village of Luss is a short drive from the house. BALLOCH CASTLE AND COUNTRY PARK: On the southern tip of Loch Lomond is this 200 acre park which includes nature trails and walled gardens. STIRLING: Within an hours drive of our cottage, where you can visit the impressive medieval castle and walk through the cobbled streets into the bustling town centre. GLASGOW: Take the tour bus round the city! ROAD TRIPS: If you are planning to stay a while, Argyll and the Isles is a glorious coastal region of sea lochs, islands, forests to explore. Don't forget Oban (with it's world class whisky dispensary).
