Guest rooms are situated on the first floor above Cheviot House Gallery ran by the artist-owner of the property. The gallery features a collection of oil paintings depicting the Cheviots and surrounding landscape. The guest rooms display Lisa Lundqvist's artwork which is also available for purchase. Guests enjoy relaxing in the comfortable shared lounge/breakfast room with tea, coffee or hot chocolate. A convenient heated Boot Room is available for guests to dry outdoor wear and boots after a wet day rambling in the hills.
Micheal Rigney is an Australian native who has spent many years hosting in Spain and France where he lead parties in snowboarding and skiing. He currently enjoys exploring the local countryside on foot and on horseback with his ex-thoroughbred Skippy. Lisa Lundqvist chose to move to Northumberland to paint the hills, teach and open a gallery. We can't forget to mention our beloved resident 'Whippador' Blake who lives with us on the ground floor.
Located in the heart of Wooler on the High Street, Cheviot House benefits from all local amenities on the doorstep such as Pharmacy, Post Office, Co-op, hairdressers, beauty salons, library, cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways. Wooler Health also has a stationed paramedic and vehicle for medical emergencies. A short walk down the hill to Wooler Water takes you to the impressive Ad Gefrin distillery and Anglo-saxon museum, cross over the road to sample the renowned ice-cream at The Milk Bar. Wooler is blessed with plentiful free long-term parking just 200m and 300 m from the property.
