A recently refurbished spacious detached house in the small village of Bixter in the west mainland of Shetland. Sleeps up to 10 with the ability to add camp-beds and cots for children. Ideal central location from which to explore Shetland or enjoy an event, wedding or festival with family and friends. Within walking distance is a village shop, fuel pumps, GP surgery, garage and small playpark. Bixter House is adjacent to the Bixter Shop which is run by the same family.

Guests can contact both owners - there are telephone numbers in the welcome pack in the property. The owners live 2 mins drive away and can quickly be there to help. Additionally, the owners also run the local village shop which is next door. Their staff will be available to help guests at any time when the shop is open (Mon - Sat 8am-7pm and Sun 12 - 5pm).

Bixter is a small village in the west-mainland of Shetland, approximately 20 miles from Lerwick. Within Bixter there is a village shop with fuel pumps, GP surgery, garage and small play-park. Located at the head of a sea voe, with access to the sea and pebbly beach across from the property. The West Mainland Leisure Centre is 5 minutes drive away within the nearby village of Aith, with swimming pool, sauna, gym, climbing wall and other leisure facilities. There is a private car park behind the Bixter Shop which is adjacent to Bixter House. The car park is exclusively for Bixter House guests. Bixter is a small village which is easy to walk through in a few minutes, with access to a pebbly beach and sea across from the property. There is a bus stop in Bixter gaining access to the rest of the west-side of Shetland and regular buses into Lerwick. The bus stop is approximately 2 minutes walk from Bixter House for anyone who does not have their own vehicle.
