#TravellerReviewAwards2025 Enjoy nature, the lake and the beach in Päijätsalo, in the shore scenery of the large lake, Päijänne. A winter cabin with all amenities, a fireplace and a wood sauna. Heating with an air heat pump and electric radiators, floor heating in the bathroom. A large, flat yard area on one side and the other side of the plot is in a natural state with beautiful nature views and the lake glimmers through the trees. You can also fish with a rowing boat and there is also a canoe (for free) and life jackets in the shed. Games, sand and beach toys. The terrace has a charcoal grill and outdoor furniture. 3 adult bicycles for free. It is 200 m to the beach and you can admire wonderful lake views on the coastal paths. The nearby beach and pier are well maintained and suitable for children. About 300 m away in the national park area there are nature trails and an observation tower with a view of Päijänne. You can bring your own bed linen and towels or rent them from us for 15 euros per person. Tabwater is drinkable. Firewood on site. Pets must be agreed in advance. Additional charge for pets is 40 euros.

Welcome to Päijätsalo's great views and nature. It's nice to receive guests and meet new people. I personally enjoy a lot when I walk along the beach paths with my dog. The surrounding nature is also absolutely wonderful. You can hear woodpeckers making their holes or see flocks of swans. You can also pick berries or collect mushrooms according to the seasons. I myself stay in a nearby cabin when I'm in Päijätsalo, but I also stay in Spain in the wintertime or at home in Kerava. Im married and have three children and nine grandchildren.

There are nature trails and a national park in Päijätsalo, where an observation tower for Päijänne was built in 1899. In the center of Sysmä, approx. 8 km away, there are several shops and restaurants as well as flea markets where you can find bargains. I personally like to eat at, for example, restaurant Uoti, which has a buffet lunch on weekdays, or Fantasia pizzeria. The center also offers a wide range of sports opportunities, e.g. swimming hall, gym, sports park with many types of courts, such as basketball and padel courts. Ohrasaari has outdoor trails, running stairs, and ski slopes in winter. Sysmä church was built 500 years ago and the cemetery is also worth visiting. In summer, you can rent water jets and motorboats from Sysmä. In nearby Suopelto, approx. 4 km. there are summer restaurants and guest marinas.
