We are Percy and Anna Kirkman, owners of our 4vallees4saisons professional chalet rental and sales business in La Tzoumaz and Chamonix. We love mountains and mountain sports and spend our time sharing that love with our two young daughters and our older sons. We are fluent in both English and French. Originally from England, we both followed international careers within Procter & Gamble before making a life-changing move to the mountains when we met. After becoming the keyholders for Interhome in La Tzoumaz as our first business idea, we created the 4vallees4saisons brand to actively grow our portfolio to over 70 properties by offering a high quality bi-lingual service to both our travellers and our property owners. We believe the regions of La Tzoumaz and Chamonix are both magical and we are passionate about the beauty and opportunities of the alpine area. We have access to some of the best skiing in Europe, hundreds of kilometres of majestic hiking, fantastic mountain bike trails, wonderful family footpaths, and it is a delight to visit all year round. We want other people to enjoy La Tzoumaz and Chamonix all year round, not just now, but into the future.

Property information

Chalet Par le Travers is a traditional chalet, set in beautiful isolation with spectacular mountain views. The chalet has been partially-renovated in 2015 and comfortably furnished. There are four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and dogs are welcome in the property. It's an ideal chalet for couples, groups and families seeking a peaceful mountain retreat with the option for plenty of action-packed activities on the doorstep. Please note there is an uphill footpath (95m long) to reach the chalet. Downstairs there are three bedrooms, each with two single beds and a sink. There are two bathrooms on this floor, one with shower, sink and WC, and the other with bath (and overhead shower), sink and WC. Upstairs on the main living floor is a fourth bedroom, also with two single beds. There is a guest WC on this floor. In the kitchen you will find all the basics: a fridge and an oven with hob. A kettle, microwave, toaster, electric filter coffee-machine, Nespresso coffee-machine plus fondue and raclette sets for a traditional Swiss evening in front of the log fire. A hairdryer, iron and portable outdoor barbecue are all available for you to use The opportunity to buy discounted ski lessons (15%) and rental (15%) and have them ready for your arrival (conditions apply) after booking a winter holiday with us (December to April) Free summer lift passes for the number of adults/children stated at time of booking (early July to late August)

Neighbourhood information

The centre of La Tzoumaz benefits from an outdoor ice-skating rink in winter, and a children's playground area in summer, with a rope-based agility park alongside more traditional equipment such as slides. A fun channel system with running water is built into the hillside to provide plenty of entertainment for older children too. At the exit of the village the Domus playground is a fabulous spot, often bathed in late afternoon sunshine, with swings, a zipline, see-saw, climbing frames and even old tractors to clamber on. It is overlooked by an outdoor cafe (check opening hours) providing drinks, snacks and ice-creams. There are rabbits, donkeys, goats, and there is also rock-climbing on the local crag in the background (contact us for equipment and instructors). The Maison de la Foret has a cafe area for drinks and snacks (check opening hours), wildlife exhibitions and its Five Senses Nature Trail with hands-on activities to borrow such as bird-whistling and learning to draw. The Nature Trail has disabled parking and is accessible to wheelchairs and children's buggies.
