Beautiful courtyard with a well, 150+ year old flower tree and cosy spots to sit and relax. the owner beautifully refurbished the house from 1886 himself. He also gives great local recommendation. we can highly recommend to stay at his place!

Kristof and Koenraad are such excellent hosts and made for a truly memorable and relaxing stay. The breafasts are exceptional. The views from the house are stunning and it is an ideal place to walk and run, birdwatch or just chill out as it is super quiet. We have done a lot of travelling and this is right up there as one of the best places we have ever stayed

This place was amazing. Excellent quiet location and the room was large, exceptional clean and comfortable. Extra touches included home baked cookies in the room and delicious cake and a wonderful selection of tea and coffee in the common kitchenette area. The owner, Teresa welcomed us and provided great information about things to do and see. We went to one of the restaurants she recommended and it was amazing. Highly, highly recommend

Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! The rooms are super clean, modern and built with good taste, the owners are wonderful and loving persons that love animals, and the location is near everything we needed (beach, main street, restaurants, supermarkets). We will return here, for sure! Highly recommended!
