We felt the hospitality of Richar's family from the moment we arrived on the island till we said our goodbyes at the dock. The room was very clean, overlooking the island slope. The facilities are basic but functional and are maintained excellently. There's also a terrace to enjoy the view from the outside. All meals provided, lunch, dinner, and breakfast were excellent and served in a nicely decorated dining room. Lunch and dinner were traditional choices of quinoa/corn soup and cheese + vegetables/pasta second course, all with local ingredients. The pancake breakfast was more of a Western style and filling for the day.. Everything is very quiet on the island, even the roosters were heard only from outside. We had a chance to observe daily island life, see people going about their chores while wearing traditional clothes, watch the sunset from the highest point, and learn a bit about local beliefs and traditions. We attended the evening fiesta that was arranged for tourists. However, it mimics all the features, such as music, clothes, and dances, of authentic island celebrations. Knowing some Spanish will significantly help enrich your island experience.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. Wonderful place! Both Amantaní island and the house of Jose Luis and Pilar (Tikawasi). About their home: well constructed house, very clean, best view of Lake Titicaca, really marvelous food (thanks Pilar), lots of flowers, internet and hot water. Well located on the island, quiet place and near the plaza and the trails to the temples. About them: very friendly couple, always looking for providing the best experience on the island, since the first minute on booking chat, on the arrivel at the port, until the last minute. About the island: a magical place, imagine an island at Lake Titicaca, which mainteined their traditions and roots, with two sacred temples, at more than 4000 meters sea level, 360° view from the lake, including andean glaciers on the horizon. A peruvian highlight! Must stay for more than just one night. Best experience!

Guests at the homestay can enjoy cycling and fishing nearby, or make the most of the garden. Issac had great communication from the start and provided very easy instructions to and from Puno. We took a local taxi to the port as there was no Uber and the boat ride which is amazing was about 20 min. For an additional cost we opted for an amazing dinner brought to our room. Our fav was the bed which was the comfiest in all of Peru with a king size mattress. Sunset views are spectacular and the serene calm of the lake was an experience. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. The homestay features a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The room and the bathroom in such a good shape and new condition! Super clean and most importantly very nice and hot shower(had to wait few mins tho until it warms up). You might think you are far away from the central but there is a minivan that cost 1 soles takes you straight to central part within less than 10 mins and it comes so frequently that you will never have to wait! Big plus for letting us stay without a problem in the place for the whole full day (as we had to get the bus at night to Cusco). Very quiet location!

With comfy beds topped with llama blankets, we had an exceptional stay. From sharing English phrases for Quechua with Ernesto to drinking local tea, watching the sunsets, to hiking the local trails, I can not recommend enough.

The owner was very helpfull from the start. I accidentally bought the wrong bus ticket and she actually came with me and helped me get a refund. And she made sure i will catch the right bus. She is a lovely person

It is located 1.1 km from Plaza de Armas Puno and offers a concierge service. Staff on-site can arrange a shuttle service. Mada is one of the best guesthouses we stayed at in Peru. It has the standard of a good hotel, but the prices are very low. Starting with the room – very clean, elegant, with a large and comfortable bed. The bathroom was also perfect, with an excellent hot shower that was just wonderful! A big TV with YouTube and streaming platforms, and a very convenient location right in the city center. Great breakfast! Great service (greetings to Angel)! They also offer several tours you can book directly with them. Honestly, you won’t find a better place in Puno for this price!
