Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.

The most amazing hosts, fabulous big breakfast and nothing is ever too much trouble - they are so kind! They picked us up from the bus stop, took us to hire our ski gear, sorted our ski passes and dropped us at the slopes and picked us up! Their hospitality is the best in Japan! The accommodation is sooo cosy and warm! The beds are really comfortable and we loved everything about our stay! You can not find better hosts! It is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again! Highly recommend staying here!

We loved our stay at Matsuo House. Taka, Oraphin and Yuuchan were amazing hosts. They were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. The rooms are traditiinL tatami rooms, futon beds. The lodge is right beside one of the public onsens and close to the chairlifts. Highlight of our ski trip to Japan. We will be back. Especially loved our morning greetings from 3 yo Yuuchan - "sleep well?" We sure did. Xx

The owner is welcoming and enthusiastic. The meals were home-cooked, and quite delightful. The owner helped us facilitate a side trip in the area, very kindly. It's a remote rural location, which has its own beauty.

El lugar era mágico y muy espiritual, y las instalaciones perfectas sin dejar de lado el espíritu tradicional de japón y de un bonito ryokan. Una experiencia inolvidable. Los dueños del santuario muy amables y dispuestos a ayudarnos siempre, con una sonrisa en la cara y con ganas de introducirnos en su cultura. Hicimos el rezo por la mañana todos juntos y nos dieron una cena y un desayuno super rico y bien presentado. Recomendable al 100%. Es el lugar de japón que más nos ha gustado.
