In our experience the staff was very helpful and the other guests were very respectful and quiet. We slept like babies! Very comfortable single beds and they offered extra blankets. They offer suggestions for dinner in the village but in case of emergency there are also snacks and instant noodles sold there. Anyone can use the kitchen facilities too! Also the gym of the high school is open to use :) Clean toilets and showers!

The common spaces are very spacious and cozy. The location is great to walk to the center.

They are both deeply passionate about Tokoname artists and will be able to give you a lot of information about them. They delivered an authentic experience of living in a Japanese household. The rooms are cute, clean, and comfortable too!

I usually don’t write reviews but this place is so good that I had no option but to write. This is a house. A proper house with a lovely backyard and cleanliness of highest standards. However, the real charm is the landlady. She is extremely polite and generous to the extent that she goes all the way to accommodate the guest’s needs. From little games to Onsen excursions, just staying at this property should be a reason good enough to visit Gifu. Finally, the food. I would recommend you to wake up super hungry because the landlady puts out a feast every morning! She is a cook par excellence and each dish (including the serveware) has a story to tell. It’s amazing how she manages everything on her own. There is nothing to not like about this place. I visited Gifu on a work trip but now this place has become my reason to return to Gifu. The city has an asset in this place and it truly shows you what Japan is when you take away the neon lights.
