Charming location. Beautiful traditional Japanese house. We brought pot noodles as worried there would be nowhere to eat but didn't need to worry as helpful host gave us directions to an izikaya a couple of kilometres away. Good if you have a car but probably not ideal to walk at night as not much pavement or lighting. Wish we had a bit more time to enjoy setting.

Contando con vista a la montaña, Himawari en Minami Aso cuenta con hospedaje, un jardín, un salón compartido y una terraza. It is a very pretty mansion close to the mount Aso. The view is amazing and the interior is cute and beautiful. I especially appreciate the fireplace, it made the whole house very warm and cozy. The warmness is especially important in houses in Japan - in almost half of my stats during the trip it was freezing cold with AC being of little help. The owner was very friendly and helpful. He helped us to get the luggage up the stairs, gave nice travel advice, it was really fun to talk to him. In the morning he helped us with the coffee machine and with the tea for my mother, I was really greatful. And of course the dog! The owner's dog Leo - fluffiest and cutest golden retriever also lives in his own room in the house. The owner took it out to interact with guests upon their request and Leo was such a good boy! Very calm and well-trained, I fully converted to a dog person now.

We loved our stay at Wakka! We were greeted by the friendly couple and Akira the cat :) Even though we were early we could check in. The house was beautiful and cozy with lovely big windows to the mountains. It was super clean and well planned, so we could easily stay four people. The kind hostess gave us tips about nearby supermarket, so we coule buy food and eat at the outdor table :) When we left we were offerer homemade onigiri! We had a great time and would definitely stay again!

Esta vez fui el único huésped, y fui tratado de manera excepcional! Ambos anfitriones me hicieron sentir como si fuéramos conocidos desde hace mucho tiempo y son súper amables, sin duda vendré aquí. El plus es el ejercicio, está literal en subiendo hacía un hermoso templo, nada mejor que terminar el día con algo de cardio pa dormir tranquilo :) El desayuno súper rico y además fueron muy cordiales al ofrecer recogerme a mi llegada en la estación de tren y también me apoyaron para mi salida de Kumamoto llevándome de vuelta a la misma ya que yo pensaba irme más temprano. La mejor experiencia que he tenido en cualquier alojamiento, 100/100 recomendado.

Very beautiful, clean guesthouse that was renovated from an old japanese home. The owners are both very kind and went out of their way to make my stay as nice as possible. You can tell that they really care about this place! Aso station (startpoint for the tour bus) can be reached in around 20 mins with bus or train. At night it is quiet and even in the summer surprisingly cool. I highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Aso!
