What truly set this place apart, however, was the outstanding hospitality. Koha-san, the host, went above and beyond in every way. Not only was the house spotlessly cleaned every day, but Koha-san also offered incredibly generous support throughout my stay. He drove me to the Catholic Church so I could attend Mass, took me to visit the beautiful shrine of Our Lady of Akita, Seitai Hoshikai brought me to the relaxing Akita Onsen Plaza, and even dropped me off at Akita Station—all free of charge. He also gave excellent suggestions for the best Hanami spots, ensuring I experienced the cherry blossoms at their finest. His kindness and dedication made my visit truly unforgettable. I highly recommend AnBeeNa guest house to anyone visiting Akita. Whether you’re looking for peace, culture, or comfort, this place offers it all. The location couldn’t have been better — situated right in the heart of Kakunodate’s cultural district, directly along the famous samurai house street. It was an unforgettable experience to wake up in such a historic setting and step right out into one of Japan’s best-preserved Edo-period neighborhoods. The host went far above and beyond. He was warm, thoughtful, and incredibly generous. He allowed me to check in early, offered free use of a bicycle (which turned out to be the perfect way to explore the charming streets and hidden spots), and even gave me a free ride to the train station when I left — something I deeply appreciated. If I ever return to Kakunodate — and I truly hope I will — I can only wish this accommodation is still available. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. It was one of the highlights of my trip.
