Everything! Being in the middle of the vineyard. The stars above - as if you’re the only 2 pple in the world. the place is small, but really really cozy. Kirk is an amazing host, as is Pepe. Loved the wine tasting, dinner was perfect. didn’t fire up the grill but the stove served well. oh and the hot tub… finally fulfilled my dream of soaking in a hot tub in the middle of a vineyard with a glass of Pinot in hand. oh and the perfect sunset and sunrise too.. everything was fuss free, and perfect. would highly recommend- either as a quick getaway from Christchurch or if ur looking to break up a long drive from Tekapo to Blenheim/Kaikoura - as was what we did!

It seemed that I fell into a fancy world. Love the secret garden especially, where you may hide under the big Christmas tree leisurely, listening to birds singing. Autumn is a perfect season to explore the garden.

Excellent place to wind down after a whirlwind 14-d self drive across South Island. Waipara itself does not have the fanciness of Kimberley or coastal Kaikoura but proximity of Canterbury vineyards makes this a great place to go for walk-thru rather than drive- thru wine tasting along the Hurunui trails. The spa was magical Highly value for money
