we loved staying at Mi Casa for three nights with our two young children despite unseasonably heavy rain while we were there. the cottages are spacious, comfortable and really private. the garden and pool are gorgeous - our girls loved exploring, feeding the fish and pretending to otters, inspired by the owners pets. Erika and Marc made us feel really welcome in their beautiful home. food in the restaurant by Rico was delicious!

Nio homestay is a great place to stay if you want something authentic and away from the crowd. You stay in a village, everyone is happy to see you and nice with you. The little shop in front of the homestay is great and they are nice. The room is clean, comfy, quiet and there is also a gas cooker if you want to cook something/boil water (shower is cold for info) The host are lovely and you feel good talking with them. They provided us a driver to go to Ijen and it was perfect !

The best place to stay ever in Ijen. The owner are very helpful, I feel like home when I stayed there. They also can provide nice tour to ijen, not expensive. The owner can speak English very well, you can ask about culture around there.

Everything was so great! The homestay is isolated and so confortable. We ate there the best nasi goreng of our whole life, homemade by his parents. Ali and his family are very nice and kind people, they like to share their experience advices. We had the opportunity to go to the Ijen with his father who is, like Ali, an old miner. We had the chance to go to the Sukamade Turtle beach with him and his friend and it was an incredible experience ! We also saw a man who make palm sugar and tried it, so delicious and natural. We recommand it, you can go there if you want a real experience.

Budi and his family do everything to make your stay and trip to Mt Ijen as pleasant as possible. They offer everything needed to visit the volcano from pick ups and drop offs at the train station/Harbor over gas masks and flashlights to all inclusive tours. I decided to organise myself more individually but they always kept being really supportive in a very personal and matey way. Cosy double fan rooms with private bathroom and a roof top terrace with a little pool are unbeatable for that price.

I call Agus Hidden Homestay the hidden gem of Java. The location is good. The house was definitely all good; We had the whole house for ourselves. The house is big (super) clean and comfortable. The difference is made by Agus and his wife. After a Home made breakfast, Agus toke us to discover his village, his community. That was a very special moment for us ( me& my 2 daughters). I was blown away by his kindness towards us. Blown away by the way he represents his community. I am happy and grateful that we had the chance to experience this.
