Homestays in Tampere

We traveled to the accommodation by bus from Helsinki. The place is located in a quiet residential area about 1 km from the bus stop. Since it was snowy in December, dragging our suitcases through the snow was difficult, so we took a taxi instead, which cost 14.3 euros. The host welcomed us like old friends. There are two smart dogs and three elegant cats. Once the dogs familiarize themselves with your scent, they won’t bark anymore. The private sauna, available for an additional 10 euros, is perfect for relieving travel fatigue. As shown in the attached photo, there is a light blue bench in the hallway leading to the sauna room, which is located right next to the guest room. You can borrow a bathrobe, so you can take a break on the bench and re-enter the sauna as needed. The heater is also installed in the restroom, so we never felt cold indoors. Although the toilet seat itself is cold, we brought stick-on seat covers from Japan, which cost about 400 yen, so it wasn’t an issue for us. The bed and pillows were comfortable, allowing us to sleep soundly. The furnishings, which evoke a sense of history and warmth, are tastefully arranged and enhance the cozy atmosphere. The bed with blue sheets shown in the attached photo is not for guests. We speculate it’s meant for the dogs, cats, or perhaps Finnish fairies. There is a microwave, a kettle, tableware, and a side table, so we had a light dinner with the food we brought. For breakfast, we recommend Konditoria Mari, a bakery with an eat-in space located 1.1 km away. It’s affordable and delicious (two large breads, much bigger than Japanese sizes, and two cups of coffee cost 9.8 euros).

Simply perfect. Probably the first time in 10 years of travelling that I found what I had seen in the pictures. The place was clean, nothing was missing, the space is huge for one person and far enough for two. Absolutely recommended! Will keep Tampere in my memory for many years to go. It was such a nice experience.

Amazing apartment – clean, stylish and really comfy. The host is wonderful and made us feel very welcome. We honestly didn’t want to leave and will definitely return!

Labels on stuff and room Paper describing what you can and can not, what is shared, what is nearby, etc. Nice hosts and view Tampere and shopping centre are close by car You have everything there and even more, then you need :-)
