We arrived quite late in the evening but Rani and Oussama made us feel really welcome from the start. The room has a comfortable bed, is lovingly furnished and is very clean. The views from the house are lovely. We booked the shorter tour to Gunung Bromo through Maison Manendra and that was very well organised and a nice surprise because the chosen route avoids most of the crowds (especially for the sunrise). The food shared around the big table on the rooftop terrace was always fresh and delicious and we had some very nice conversations with the other guests and also Rani and Oussama.

Mountain Ecolodge está ubicado en Gubukklakah, a 23 km de Velodrome Malang y a 24 km de Bentoel Museum. This is the biggest surprise of my Indonesia trip! This place located in a small town near Malang. It runs by a family and Mrs. Mary took 2 of her independent rooms as hotel. There is super nice mountain view and the whole atmosphere is sooo chill. The room is quite big. The host even gave us some passion fruits and papaya grown from their farm. It is not far from Mt. Bromo and Tumpak Sewu - both takes 1.5h to drive there. There are hardly any tourists in this small town and when we were walking to a restaurant, the people were so curious and greeting us friendly, the kids on the street waved to us and say hello. It was such an amazing experience! The sunset of with rice field view in the small town is also really really beautiful. There is also a good and modern restaurant 20 min walk from our stay and it is designed to see the sunset with a big balcony, the food is very nice too

Mocca Guest House está ubicado en Banyuwangi, a 16 km de Watu Dodol, y ofrece un jardín, salón compartido, terraza y wifi gratis. Really liked the nice neighborhood and the size of the homestay- high ceilings and spacious social area felt like a comfortable family home. Our host set up our trekking tour for us with a great guide- everything included- which was so easy, and we had great laundry service done. Water, tea and coffee available to self-serve and beer was available for purchase- nice details!

Mi Casa - The gem of Ijen está ubicado en Banyuwangi, a 31 km de Watu Dodol, y ofrece alojamiento con una pileta al aire libre, estacionamiento privado gratis, un jardín y salón compartido. We stayed here for one night to visit the Ijen volcano early in the morning. Everything was perfect: just amazing hosts , clean and nice decorated room, delicious breakfast, beautiful area. Our only regret is that we didn’t have enough time to spend there. Thank you very much.

Thanks to our amazing host, we were able to walk up to Bromo and Mt. Batok just as we wanted, avoiding the crowds and groups. Davi was wonderful—he gave us the best tips to explore the area, and we enjoyed unforgettable hikes with stunning sunset and sunrise views. The room was comfortable, with a hot shower—everything we needed. We definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a more authentic experience. For meals, we had lunch and dinner on a beautiful terrace just a few minutes’ walk from the homestay.

Ni_Er Guesthouse by Mr.Tsabalala está ubicado en Panjunan, a 30 km de Parque Nacional Bromo Tengger Semeru y a 32 km de Mount Lamongan. I had a great stay here thanks to Rohmat and Dimas who were very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse offers a transfer from/to the train station and tour to visit the Tumpak Sewu / Goa Tetes / Kapas Biru waterfalls. The room was clean and comfortable.
