For several reasons, we had to postpone our stay at Mango Beach House, in Jambiani, three times in the past. Finally, 2025 was the year for something long awaited. The expectations were high, but the reality surpassed them. A dream spot, right on the beach. The facilities, the outdoor and sea temperature , the sound of the crows, the breeze and the waves, the laughter of the children at night playing football on the beach, the food (delicious breakfast and wonderful meals), the friendliness and availability of the hosts made us wish that it could be our 'forever home'. And the truth is that during our stay we felt that it was also our home, thanks to the warm welcome from Beth, Dhula, our extraordinary chef Hemé (don't know how to spell it) and all the rest of the staff. There was also the opportunity to do some additional activities suggested and organized by Beth, namely a boat trip in typical Dhow, through the beautiful waters of Jambiani, as well as an unforgettable Mangrove tour, which ended at sunset, in a vibrant atmosphere in a bar in Michamvi. Breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit and juice then either eggs, pancakes, avocado, anything you could want. The rooms are spacious and clean. You’re with walking distance to the beach and loads of lovely places to eat, there are a few spas on the beach as well if you fancied a massage!

What can I say, breakfast was extraordinary, plentiful, varied - you don't realise how fresh fruit really tastes until you've tried it here. The host, Haji, is very caring, helpful and dedicated to providing you with the best possible stay. If you want to go kite surfing, he's a professional instructor, if you want to go sailing on a local dhow, he can set you up with that too. It's Africa, the power will cut out from time to time, there's no generator on site, but go sit in one of larger beach cafés, they'll sometime have a generator, if you absolutely needs to have wi-fi or charge your devices at that very moment. Wow beach house perfectly situated between the beach and the local village. It is one house down from the beach and one house up from the village, so you get the best of both. The village has local restaurants and small shops where you can buy soda, snacks, fresh fruit etc., all very friendly. The beach front has lots of beach bars where you can sit, enjoy the ocean breeze, a cool drink or a meal.

Since I read the book who the owner Dorota wrote, I really wanted to visit Vanilla House. And it was as I imagined, even better!!! The sound of the ocean at night...The breeze.. The food... The view... I loved it!!!!

Absolutely amazing place! Top location, in the heart of Paje, 5 min from the beach and restaurants! Very quiet, cozy, high quality ! Very clean, very big room and bathroom ! Beautiful garden , kind of jungle. You even can have espresso coffee, wich is rare in Paje! Highly recommended!
