The room and the house was amazing, quiet, tidy, well organised and relaxing. A fantastic place to stay in the heart of Madiha! The hotel is new, and the rooms are fresh and beautifully designed. It’s run by a wonderful family who are incredibly hospitable and make you feel right at home. The location is perfect—close to the beach with great surf, yet in a peaceful area. Madiha itself is a charming and relaxed surf town. Highly recommended!

The stay was the BEST we had so far in Sri Lanka! Dinu and her family do everything to make you feel at home, if you wish for something they will make sure to make it happen. The location is also really nice and calm, as it is located in the second row, but still very centered only 2 min walk to the main road and 5 min to the beach. From the terrace you have a nice view in the jungle-like garden, where you can even see monkeys play and listen to exotic birds in the morning. And the best yet to come, the rooms are brand new, super clean and equipped with everything you need: AC, nice bathroom, mini fridge, mosquito net, fast WIFI etc. If you stay here, also make sure to have breakfast, it was simply the best, we were completely full because everything was so delicious and a lot Sri Lankan dishes to try out. It is also possible to have professional massages directly at the accommodation as they also have a day spa center here, we didn't have it but a lot of day guests came by. Sorry for gushing, but we really enjoyed our stay as you can tell and we recommend to be quick because as soon as people will know about this new place, it will be booked out for a long time

Extremely welcoming and helpful family. Lovely property with nice new fresh rooms. I was stuck with nowhere to stay due to a misunderstanding. They took me in late at night, I had no bags with me, they gave me PJ's which was honestly such a lovely lovely thing to do. The breakfast the next-day was gorgeous. Dhal, sambol, potato curry, hoppers, the lot!! 2 types of desert. Genuinely lovely people. AND THEIR DOG!!! omg, the cutest fluff Ball I've ever seen.

We were really lucky to find this place and spent 11 nights here! If we come back to Sri Lanka, we will definitely stay in Sandbank again. New, clean, comfortable room with cozy terrace. Super-friendly, caring staff - they were always ready to help with ALL our requests. We felt ourselves very welcomed guests - not just regular clients. The place is located in quiet part of Madiha which was important for us - no loud music and parties around. There is no usual beach nearby but for us it was advantage as we don’t like crowds and swimming - just be in the ocean and jump with waves) Just several moments were specific and could be important to know in advance: there is no hot water (it’s not cold of course, just fresh), WiFi didn’t work in our room (n3), just on terrace - but this points just details, not problems and it couldn’t mess up our stay in such a great place.

The location is ideal for exploring southern Sri Lanka, with Polhena Beach just a short distance away, perfect for snorkeling and enjoying the calm waters. Mirissa is also close by, offering exciting whale-watching tours. The guesthouse itself is peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully maintained. While they don’t serve meals, great local dining options are just a short walk away, making it easy to explore Sri Lankan cuisine. Overall, Sheru Guest provided me with a genuine cultural experience and a sense of home. It’s perfect for travelers who want an affordable, impactful, and authentic stay in Sri Lanka. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Matara.
