We arrived late and the restaurant was closed. The manager organized delicious cold plates for us. Most appreciated!! We needed a taxi for the following day . This was organized for us ! We needed a boarding pass printed … this was organized for us. We needed cash to pay a taxi …this was also organized. The management couldn’t have done anything more for us. Such truly kind and friendly people .

Lovely old pub in a quiet village close to Appleby. It was a brilliant place to stay. The staff were very warm and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for the landlord Laurie. Delicious food, comfy rooms and the quiz night was great fun.

We stayed in Wordsworth Cottage. It was lovely, clean & comfortable. Amazing for our family of 5. The Grounds are great to walk round with kids, we got into the keep and went to the top. We had breakfast in the great hall, freshly cooked food. An absolutely gem of a place for the money.

Unique place to stay...my 3 children loved it and want to go back. Eating breakfast in such a grand Hall was brilliant fun. Rooms were clean, if a little on the slightly tired side of things. Bathroom was modern and immaculate. Would stay again because of the fun of staying in a Castle!

Stopped as an overnight guest with my wife and kids, late at night and we were greeted by a very polite chap. He showed us to our house, provided us with everything we needed and offered us a tour in the morning. Despite it being Christmas time this man was going to give us a tour of the Castle! I'd highly recommend! Modern, warm houses fit for all families. Welcoming staff and very clean!
