Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! Nice atmosphere for a Guesthouse. Basic food was also provided due to the location which is an exceptional service.

Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Entertainment options include cable channels and a DVD player. Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. This was our favorite hotel in Japan! We stayed only one night to get to see the island of Miyajima a bit more, and staying here was such a nice experience. In particular, the dinner at the hotel was so special and delicious! You need to message them to make the reservation some days in advance, but they were always very responsive. The facilities of the hotel were really great: the public baths, the rooftop terrace, the footbath café. Finally, the staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA is located in Miyajima’s Omotesando Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Miyajima Pier. The hotel offers a restaurant and Japanese-style rooms with free wired internet access.

The stylish rooms at ITSUKUSHIMA IROHA feature tatami-mat flooring and private bathrooms. Amenities include a flat-screen TV and DVD player. Our room was incredible. It was one of our favorite rooms we stayed in during our two weeks travelling across Japan. It had so much character and beauty, from the tatami matt flooring, paper screen doors, beautiful wooden flooring in the bathroom, and bamboo weaving on the ceiling banisters. In our room, we had a fine view of the bustling streets of Miyajima. It was a great view for people watching as tourists and locals visited stores and restaurants. The dinner was great, made with fresh ingredients. It was no doubt one of the best dinners we had in Japan. It consisted of multiple courses, and you were able to choose preferences for each course. This was a nice surprise, as we had stayed in another ryokan in Hakone a few days prior that did not offer a selection for the courses. The sashimi was super fresh, and the pork tonkotsu was terrific.

The air-conditioned rooms feature tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding. Each comes with a flat-screen TV and an electric kettle with green tea bags. All rooms have a private toilet, and some have shared bathroom facilities. Amazing room with view on the ocean. Very comfortable futon beds, nice public bath. Great location.

Reopened in April 2014 after renovations, Miyajima Morinoyado offers comfortable guest rooms and a spacious public bath. It is a 1-minute walk to Miyajima Aquarium and a 15-minute to Itsukushima Shrine. The best way to experience Japan. We highly recommend the place. Miyajima at night is much better without thousands of turists and the dinner served by the hotel it is a masterpiece of colors and tastes.
