The hotel is exceptional and frankly exceeded our expectations. Its minimalist architecture centered on an inner garden is a real highlight. We had a fantastic stay. Everything was perfect, including the public baths and the breakfast. We stayed in a superior room. The location was good, only a few streets away from central metro and bus stations. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Lovely family-run ryokan with a truly kind and charming owner. Good and tasty dinner on our first night. The breakfast was also very copious and impressive. First time i slept in a futon bed but it was surprisingly comfortable. We loved our stay here. It was also very well located.

A 1000 year-old Buddhist temple, Shukubo Koya-san Eko-in offers Japanese-style accommodation, a beautiful garden and free WiFi. Guests are free to attend Buddhist morning services, the Goma fire ritual and meditation. Amazing place to stay, extremely recommended. A really great experience in general - I stayed in one of the suites and could not have asked for a more relaxing and peaceful place to stay, only a short walk from Okunoin Cemetary and an easy walk to the rest of town. Very close to the bus stop from Koyasan Station. Staff were always helpful and the meals were unbelievably delicious and satisfying, even though I needed to ask for a soy-free modification. The best food I ate during my stay!
