United KingdomVisiting the US from the UK we were amazed to find a place to stay with such a historic background and (our own home in England dates from around 1830) to stay somewhere built in the 1790s!
The building was charming, well- cared for and the bed was so comfy!
We were also directed to a really authentic diner for our dinner, which was also a brilliant experience.

CanadaWe loved that they had veterans parking, never seen that anywhere before, so made full use of it. Whole stay was a most pleasant experience, comfy beds, plenty of coffee and great facilities. Eaterys close by. Thank you.

I loved touring the fort, get there early before 11 to be able to see most of the demonstrations of the muskets. The cannon demonstration was nice and loud. The amount and beauty of canons was amazing. It was humbling to walk in the steps of so much history. The King's Garden was very nice with a walled garden and beautiful glass greenhouse from England. Although it was late in the season, there were still flowers to be seen and enjoyed. The views of Lake Champlain from all directions is breathtaking. Be sure to take a ride on the Carillion Boat for an entertaining and informative river cruise. Mt Defiance also has spectacular views of the lake and the mountains of Vermont on the other side. All of the site's staff are dressed in historic attire and are a wealth of knowledge on the fort and the battles.Guest review byLeciaUnited States - 2.0
The hotel was close to a harbor we needed.
The hotel was close to a harbor we needed. We were double charged on 2 credit cards and they refused to make corrections. Insisted it was not true. We booked 2 rooms, next to each other but only 1 came through. After getting the 2nd room we found the rooms had not been cleaned and had to switch rooms which were clean. Beds were uncomfortable with sagging in the middle. Breakfast was decent and available from 5am- 9 am. We would not recommend going there.Guest review byLauraUnited States

It was deceptive and the sofa was extremely uncomfortable. I was quite upset and they did nothing to rectify stating that technically the living area counts as a bedroom because of the pullout sofa.
