Pella is a wonderful community that celebrates its Dutch heritage and does it up right! There is a working windmill in town, and many beautiful homes and shops. Great places to eat and the pastry treats from the Jaarsma Bakery are not to be missed!

Pella is such a quaint little town.
Pella is such a quaint little town. Strolling through the shops in downtown/uptown was so nice. Ate at the Windmill for breakfast and the food was amazing with large portions. The shop keepers are friendly and not only do they know their shops, they know what other shops carry and recommend the other shops if they don't carry what you may be browsing for! We even stopped into the Opera House and they let us tour the renovated building, which is absolutely beautiful! I don't think we entered anything were the locals were not giving you a friendly "hello"!

Must sees: Vermeer Windmill and Historical Village; be sure and take the windmill tour. Our guide was excellent.
Jaarsma Bakery has delicious Dutch baked goods and although there is always a line it moves quite fast and the baked goods are excellent.
Pella is a wonderful downtown for shopping and just walking around.
The Dutch Fix is a good restaurant for tasty authentic Dutch food. My husband is from the Netherlands and enjoyed our meals there.

We loved Pella!
We loved Pella! Due to recent knee surgery, we were not able to park and get out and walk the downtown areas, but want to go back when we are physically able to do that. The town is so clean, loved the architecture, all the shops looked welcoming, people were friendly. We drove all around the place, through neighborhoods close to downtown, out into a neighborhood of beautiful new homes, out further from town to see the Pella windows manufacturing, Vermeer company, etc. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

Pella is a beautiful little town that is well maintained by the friendly folks who live there. Be sure to spend time in the lovely parks, especially on a summer Thursday to enjoy the live music in the evening.

The breakfast was fresh with a lot of selections. It was refreshing to have actual cooked eggs instead of the usual powdered or pre-made omelets.
The room deserved the tip that I left for housekeeping, it was that impressive.
Of the 5 nights away from home in various locations on our trip, this one was the best.
The breakfast was great. The hotel was located close to the town of Pella. We were there for 2 nights and everything was
great about the stay. If in the area again would definitely stay there and will recommend to others.
