Not much for me to say, I was driving Route 66 and only stayed here for the night, but it was a pleasant area, everyone was friendly, felt safe at night. But, went to bed early and left in the morning, so I did not really take in any of the nightlife. Places were open at the time for food and other supplies, not sure when everything shuts down there. Overall, a great stop on Route 66.

This motel was in need of repairs and was dangerously dirty.
This motel was in need of repairs and was dangerously dirty. The sink appeared to have black mold growing around it. The staff seemed not to be surprised when the possibility of black mold was reported to them. I would not stay in this motel again.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean.
Staff was very friendly, room was clean. The Ac comes on but doesn't cool. It makes a noise every few minutes like an ice maker. The light/fan in the bathroom was loud and the door sticks, so it makes a loud sound when it is opened. The beds are hard. The light flashed when turned on. TV does not work.

We found a very good Mexican restaurant, La Hacienda, and enjoyed our meal immensely. We were only passing through so didn't catch any of the town's activities. It seemed quiet, and the Sunset Motel was a fun, clean, retro, unassuming place to stay.

Moriarty is safe and convenient for those traveling on I 40.
Moriarty is safe and convenient for those traveling on I 40. People are friendly and there are interesting stores such as Studio 66 which features local artists, at which to shop. The town is small, so it is easy to find locations, and there are several nice hotels to choose from.

I was a little weird reading all the sign about the hotel not being responsible for break ins or damages to cars. The motel was very well kept. The rooms appeared to be newly redecorated. The handicap restroom was very large the door to the restroom seemed to be in an awkward position!?!

Staff very friendly. Room and facilities very clean. Good choice at breakfast and staff member at breakfast kept everything clean and stocked up. We were offered cookies at check in which we thought was a lovely touch. Great to see the place decorated for halloween/fall and interesting to learn from information on the walls, what films were made in the area and that the filming crews stayed at this hotel! If our schedule allowed it, we would have had no hesitation in extending our stay

Like stepping back into the late 60s or early 70s, except the heat pump was quiet and nothing looked like it was an antique. The room was cute, the beds comfy. The owner was beyond welcoming and seemed to enjoy meeting people. While Bkfst was brown bagged there was coffee in the room, and the brown bag contained special pastries and fruit, which we made good use of. It was better than what we are used to getting at large chain hotels.

This is a budget hotel which provided a decent sized room, a working and hot shower and a big comfy bed. I slept great, and that's all i needed.
A very polite and helpful receptionist!
Breakfast was good, hotel involved in interesting movie making history but information about plenty of movies filmed in nearby places should be visible during booking.
