For many of our family, coming back to Findlay was returning home. it was a chance to catch up with and share memories with old friends and family members. Findlay is a town of family values, friendly people and simple pleasures. We truly enjoyed our visit.

I loved the room...the TV was awesome, and I loved the handicap accessible shower. Breakfast was a bit skimpy, but okay if you like waffles. No meat was offered. I loved that the hotel was right next to Cracker Barrel, so we could walk there for supper. We were hauling some farm equipment on a 16 ft trailer and we found parking at the hotel and didn't want to have to drive somewhere with the trailer in tow, so we walked to Cracker Barrel. Very easy access from Interstate 75 near to local gas stations. Overall, a positive experience!

We stayed in Findlay to enjoy a trip to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation down the road in Carey, OH. Choosing the Hancock was a happy accident. The little town of Findlay was also a wonderful, happy surprise. The town itself is clean and the downtown area has various little shops that are interesting and staffed with friendly and happy people. The whole stay was like a visit to a real life Hallmark Movie town.

Findlay is my hometown so I have seen it change.

Findlay is my hometown so I have seen it change. There are really cute restaurants now that are not chains. The South Main Street houses continue to be a must-see. .. gingerbread and Victorian. The Findlay University has a children's book illustrator exhibit which is permanent and outstanding. Near the Donnell Middle School is a beautiful old park with a pond. The city park with swimming pool borders the Blanchard River. Findlay was the home of Tell Taylor who wrote "Down By the Old Mill Stream" based on this river.

As far as Findlay goes, check out local events.

As far as Findlay goes, check out local events. We took a guided first quarter moon hike at Litzenberg Memorial Woods at dusk that was wonderful. There are several parks where you can walk trails and enjoy nature. If you're in the mood for an expertly crafted cocktail, head to The Bourbon Affair. They have a full bar, and I love the atmosphere in this place. It has charm and character. It's retro-themed with the staff in button up white shirts with garters on the sleeves or wearing a dress you would have seen in dance halls in the days when swing music dominated, and swing is exactly what you hear coming over the speakers in the bar, along with crooners like Frank Sinatra etc. In the mood for dessert? We've been going to Dietsch Brothers for years everytime we pass Findlay on our way through Ohio. They have excellent ice cream, and if you're in the mood for chocolate, they have everything under the sun. As far as the downtown area goes, just walking through town and looking in shop windows and admiring the facades of the old buildings and taking in the architecture is enjoyable. Check out Hancock County Courthouse. Incredible! If you're going to Findlay on a holiday weekend, I recommend that you check to make sure attractions and businesses you want to visit are open as we found that half of the businesses were closed or closed early on Labor Day weekend.

Very good - What previous guests thought, 399 reviews
There was nothing I liked , when we arrived to get our rooms I was told they only had one room available not the two I hand scheduled. The confirmation email clearly stated I had two rooms. They could not accommodate us at the hotel and we were forced to take rooms further down the highway in a lower quality hotel. We were out of the country and this was a major inconvenience

Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 75 reviews
Breakfast was not included much to my surprise. However upon our late arrival their kitchen was still open and we enjoyed a very good bowl of tomato bisque soup and a good cheese tray. The staff and check in manager were very accommodating. Appeared to be a very well run hotel unlike the Hilton in Locust Grove , Ga.

The front desk upon arrival was so welcoming and kind. The rooms are immaculate. The hotel grounds are beautiful and in a very quiet area. Plenty of parking. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
