We went in May with a group of friends and found it a low key and relaxing island. Beautiful beaches and a few places to explore. I think scooter hire is a must-have to be able to get around...that was a highlight for us just cruising around the island! The hike to the 'big tree' was way harder than expected but the gorgeous secluded beach at the end made it worth it. In low season it seems like at least half the restaurants and shops are closed so you can't rely on google to tell you where to go, sometimes you just have to drive around and see what's open.Guest review byLarsNew Zealand - 10

If you want peace and quiet and seclusion, this is the place! Be aware that you are there to relax and will be paying higher prices for items such as food an drink. It makes sense as they have to ship everything in. That being said, everything is made with care and delicious! They do have two happy hours from 5-6 and 9-10 on the beach. Lots of honeymooners! I went with my two adult sons, it was a stop in between Krabi and Phuket and it was perfect to get away from the crazy and chill. Take their boat transfer too!Guest review byPetrinaCanada - 10

Amazing. Don't hesitate - just go! We are not party or shopping people and so this island was perfect - quiet, calm, local vibe, easy to explore by scooter, beautiful natural beaches that are so lovely to swim in. This is what I would call a quiet island.

Local people are very nice and always kind. Seafood is very fresh, Recommend is " Koh Yao Tha Ton Do Seafood" Chef is very nice, she cooked like homemade and food is so fresh. Beach on this island is not ok for people who wanna play and swim on the sea, need to take boat to the other island better. The views of the limestone islands were superb. The beach in front is great for swimming, just not classical , but you can easily walk to others with more sand frontage. Great neighbourhood for walking, lots of different eating places right on the beach. Hired scooters from hotel and toured the island, Breakfast at the resort is great. Even just walking into the reception/lobby you are greeted with beautiful, beach lux decor. There is a scooter hire shop conveniently right next to the hotel.
