Victoria was easily accessed, there were many markets and most people spoke English. There are frequent rain showers that lasted a few minutes which is a relief as it is hot and humid most of the time. The restaurants were great but for South Africans it worked out expensive to eat and drink. There were far too many cars on the road and simply no parking available in Victoria. lovely sights and scenery . The roads that lead over the mountain give way to absolutely breath taking views. Not the type of capitol city many of us are used too. You'll see it all within 2 hours. The tourist offer is pretty slim at best, while any tourist related item prices are very steep. In Seychelles, it's the beaches you'll enjoy, not the city atmosphere.Guest review byGregiBSlovenia - 8.0

Victoria is ok, but we spent most of our time renting an apartment (Villa Bella) on the North East point, which was perfect for us. The North East point is far away from any touristy areas, so you'll need a car, which I'd recommend anyways to go to the different beaches, trails, supermarket etc. So stay elsewhere than Victoria is my advice!Guest review byNinaNorway

Upon our arrival from La Digue, hotel organized transfer to Victoria where we wanted to buy some souvenirs with the agreement to drive our luggage to the hotel, but the driver was very kind and even waited for us in the city which meant a lot for us since it was our last day in Seychelles. The hostess Mary Claire solved any question that arose. Self-catering is a huge plus. You don't feel like a guest, everything is as homey as possible.
