Excellent place to stay in Porto, with character (despite its size), great facilities, helpful staff, generous, quality breakfast, a rooftop bar that stays open until 11.30 pm (but the area remains accessible to customers throughout the night), and a small swimming pool on the rooftop. Also, lots of space for working online. Amazing value for money.

My plane arrived early in the morning. I have requested an early check in and I was informed that the hotel will study the availability. On the day I arrived, I arrived earlier than expected. The staff were extremely helpful, I explained to them that I was travelling all night and I need to rest. They have managed to give me my room earlier than I expected. The hotel from the outside is not very attractive, however, once you are in side, it is another story (everything is perfect) the spa, the swimming pool, the free sparking wine at 5.00. The staff were very helpful, the will propose restaurants, make reservations and even reception staff will assist in carrying your luggage if the bell boy is busy. I have tried several hotels in Porto, this is the best.

Amazing hotel. Such a great staff. Very good breakfast and restaurant. Comfortable and clean rooms. Lots of parking space (paid). Amazing pool, next to the gym, great for a quick dive after working out. The location is also great, in a quiet street, not in the bustling center, but right next to a metro station and a short walk to all the cool stuff in Porto. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone, especially those traveling with kids.

    North bank of river Douro is very pretty to walk along, with its tiled houses, but the same river trips on offer are 2 euros cheaper if you cross the Luis 1 bridge to the other side (where the Port companies are based). And the food court on that south side: Mercado Beira-Rio, sited amongst the Port houses was our favourite spot for a meal and a drink - best value for money, lots of choice, and a great atmosphere. It has fruit and bakery stalls too - if you'd rather take away items for a picnic.

    Cooking class was exceptional.

    Cooking class was exceptional. The Tour of the Douro vineyards is quite informative about the history and making of port wine. The Livraria Lello was a waste of time. Overcrowded, hot, no organization of tourists. Too many people standing on the 2nd floor by the railing - hopefully the construction was good. There are lots of good pictures online so no need to experience the madness imho.

    A charming city, plenty to see and do.

    A charming city, plenty to see and do. Bring some good walking shoes, as the city is hilly and there's lots of construction work going on (Metro lines). We took the Metro to the Atlantic coast and spent time walking along the beach promenade, which was clean and not too touristy.

    The city was even more interesting than we expected. If you enjoy sightseeing, beaches, and good wine, Porto is definitely worth a visit. Plus, you’ll find all kinds of delicious sweets and food at very reasonable prices.

    A lovely and attractive town, with plenty to see.

    A lovely and attractive town, with plenty to see. Most things within walking distance, but you have to be prepared for lots of ups and downs. Particularly enjoyed our visit to Gaia for port tasting and walk over Dom Luis bridge for fabulous views.

    Porto is a great city to visit as it is very scenic, has a good transport system and is easy to walk around. There are interesting places to view and a plentiful supply of coffee shops, restaurants and bars serving a variety of food a drink. The transport system is reliable and inexpensive providing good value for money. The three day tour card allows for travel from and to the airport and around the city using the Metro, trams and buses for 16 euros. As with a lot of countries though the postal system is lacking and post boxes few and far between.

    Modern, clean & comfortable. I booked last minute while I was staying in another part of Portugal & due to that got the last room. It was right next to reception as you entered the building from street level. Wasn't sure about it when first arrived but it was great as small hotel & nice & quite. Location was great to walk to Douro river & there was also a metro station within a few minutes wall to beach or anywhere else in Porto. Must add that the guy on reception was excellent.
