Not having a car meant I couldn't go outwith Taupo. The boat trip to see rhe Rock Carvings was well worth it. Haka Falls was walk able but due to the heavy rain I couldn't do it. Taupo has a lot to do in and around town.
Taupo has a lot to do in and around town. I like it there and it seems like there’s a lot of family activities. A lot of runners and cyclists. The Lake itself was huge which we hadn't expected. There is a well-positioned walking track to take in more views of the lake and other areas of Taupo. Vibrant place. It was well set out and clean. The bed was slightly hard for us but is because we have just purchased a new bed. The room was spacious and quiet. The car park was full with numerous cars and lots of children there for the Taupo Rugby tournament which is why we were there. We used the tea making facilities but did not need the motel equipment for meals. It was roomy with a separate bedroom in the standard unit. It had a kitchen so you could cook if you wanted - this included a microwave and a half size fridge. Unit 6 is on the upper level with a set of outside stairs on either end of the complex. Parking was outside the room and free. Had a distant view of Lake Taupo from the lounge.
