My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge and it began the moment we arrived. The owners welcomed us warmly and, as we had cycled all day to get to it and did not realise that the store across the street (which is in fact not a store) would be closed, we had no food for the evening. Without a moment's hesitation the owners arranged a nice supper for us, including a salad picked fresh from their garden. We spent an interesting evening chatting with them as well as another couple of local New Zealanders staying at the lodge. The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were very clean, and there is a nice deck to sit out on. The location, right near the beach, is a perfect stop for cyclists on the way from Picton to Kaikoura, and we can highly recommend it!

    Lovely cafe with great food and a wonderful wild beach with...

    Lovely cafe with great food and a wonderful wild beach with many seabirds. Not so easy to get around on foot if you stay at the Lodge because of the main highway with lack of footpaths and no safe crossing. I think staying at the camping ground would have no issues.

    We had a lovely stay in Kekerengu.

    We had a lovely stay in Kekerengu. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax. The accommodation was very comfortable and included the best bed we have had for an away from home stay. We had a great view and enjoyed sitting on the balcony to enjoy the sea air. We had some nice walks on the beach and around Kekerengu in the mornings and evenings .
