The hotel is well located in Thamel, close to the main street for shopping your stuff for the EBC trekking. The staff were really kind and helpful, specially Ganga, who helped me with some guidance for my stay in Kathmandu. I could leave my bag for free when I went to the EBC. Breakfast was good enough, the room is spacious, clean and the shower was really good. I really like this hotel and will return again if I had the opportunity to come back in Nepal.

What a lovely, friendly, quiet hotel, everything was fantastic, the food (you must try the Thali) breakfast delicious and plentiful, the staff always with a smile, and my room was so comfortable, piping hot shower, beautiful bathroom, comfy bed and pillows, tea coffee and kettle, thick bathrobe and slippers, nothing forgotten, and my room had a view of the Swoyambhu Temple which is a must visit, it's stunning. I easily arranged my tours with Dolakh the owner directly, after wasting my time before scrolling online, the shared helicopter tour to Mount Everest was simply incredible, a once in a lifetime adventure, and it turned out to be much cheaper than the other people on the trip had paid, the day tour to the sunrise at Nagarkot, Bhaktapur, Buddha stupa and Pashupatinath Temple, was fantastic, 2 Unesco World Heritage sites in 1 day. All of my onward domestic flights booked for me too, at a fraction of the cost of trying to do it myself, a speedy, easy service, very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend you choose this hotel and tour company (Mountain Mart).

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! Everything was perfect – the rooms were spotless, and the location was very convenient, just a short distance from the city center. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they even picked me up from the airport, which was a thoughtful touch. As a tourist from Central Europe, I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting. Truly an unforgettable experience!

a very friendly and welcoming hotel in an excellent location in the heart of thames, quite enough though. There was a common veranda too. Big bathroom, free shampoo and shower gel. Breakfast was tasty and coffee very good. Value for money. Free pick up for international flights was appreciated by us. I have to say the best for staff. Helpful, smiling all time. We were able to leave a part of our luggage for ten days and collect it before our final departure. In addition buses for chitwan leave 8 minutes on foot from hotel, very convenient for us. We visited durbar Square by ourselves and we rent a taxi with driver at 70 dollars by santos for a day trip to monkey temple ( excellent), Patan (very good), baktrapur ( excellent), Buda temple ( excellent), passi...hindu temple (cremation was a small shock for us).

    I mostly stayed in thamel. Did tours outside. But the food tour was fantastic with Deepak. so much character in this area. Locals very nice and helpful. . I did the tour of the 7unesco sights. So much information. Food was good. Went back to some of the places from the food tour. if you stay away from fancy restaurants you can eat a full meal for 2dollars

    On the first day of Kathmandu in the city bus I was stolen...

    On the first day of Kathmandu in the city bus I was stolen money from my poshest. Until that time I had thought that Nepali were honest and diligent. So that I didn’t pay attention to things like having my money stolen on the bus. On the last day the airport was closed because of the strike, so I had to reschedule my ticket and stay in hotel one night more The city is so dusty and lots of rubbish. However, I like the old cultural constructions and festivals.

    You have to say No!

    You have to say No! Everyone wants you to buy from them but they are used to being rejected. There are some people wanting to talk to you, often wanting to show you their workplaces etc so they can lure you in to buy their wares. Conversations always start with Hello sir/madam. Which country are you from? However, lovely people and a lo ely place, full of history and religious beliefs.

    Treekers home provides an excellent accommodation facilities in low cost. Especially, staffs were very helpful and the location of the hotel was also nice. Note: There is a big room to improve the light and bathroom facilities. But it is perfect for those who find low cost hotel in Thamel.

    Mostly stayed in Thamel tourist area and ate at many local spots: House of MoMo, Third Eye, Yok Bar were all great! But careful as some of the menu descriptions can be a little misleading. Ex: I received a 'chicken skewer' meal that was NOTHING like described. It was even missing the skewers. But the staff was extremely helpful and eager to please. The traffic/driving is crazy! Mopeds/motorbikes are high percentage of use, with automobiles being less visible in the high tourist areas. It is REALLY dusty everywhere. Wear a mask or buff if you have allergy/breathing issues. Always carry your own TP if you're not used to using squatty potty's and bidets!

    I would give 10 stars if I could!! I have stayed in many hotels for more than 20years and I would rate this the best! Fantastic value for money, professional but friendly staff, breakfast, lunch and dinner excellent. Don’t eat out as food great value, varied and tasty. Shower great pressure and always hot water. Internet great connection too. Spotlessly clean inside and outside. Above all quiet area although in Thamel. Definitely recommended - I will return. Thank you to all the wonderful staff. Book it and you won’t be disappointed!!!

    I've stayed several times in Thamel and there are a lot of hotels to choose from in a variety of budgets. I chose the Maya Boutique Hotel because of the location and price. The bed was very comfortable and the room was a decent size. I stayed initially for 4 nights and returned for another two after a short trip out of the city. One of the best thing about the hotel was the friendliness of the staff. Water, tea and coffee were available all day for no charge.
