Room is amazing - large, modern, comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. Restaurant's meals were great. Location is fantastic, very scenic and close to Giethoorn. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also kettle in the room - seems to be a luxury in many European hotels.

Excellent! To be honest, this was the most affordable accommodation we booked during our trip, but I truly feel that we received the best service here. First of all, Demi, the hostess, provided impeccable service. She is very attentive, and this was clearly reflected in the spotless cleanliness of the room. The bathroom was spacious, spotless, and even equipped with shower gel. The bedding was very comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised to find some tea prepared for us. The overall environment was wonderful, and parking was very convenient. As travelers, having such thoughtful service makes everything much more relaxing. Demi is not only beautiful but also kind and approachable, which made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was also delicious. I am sincerely grateful to her and hope that more people will recognize and appreciate this lovely place.

The room was luxurious, had the loft. Bed very nice. I liked sitting outside the house on the seats provided and following the busy life by the sluice, best seating in town and I could go round the corner and buy a pint of local beer from the local brewery and bring it back to my seat. Love the town.

There is absolutely nothing to fault here. We booked a family room which meant two adjacent rooms with a door (actually two doors) from inside the room connecting the two rooms. This was on the ground floor. We stayed for two nights (me, hubby and kids 12 and 11). The rooms are brand new, clean, the water was warm enough, the sink did not bother us that it wasn't inside the bathroom but I actually found it useful there and found it smart how they used the space. There are four cups of coffee per day in each room :-). We had a lovely view and sunshine through the big terrace doors in the morning. By the way booking.com says there is no WiFi but of course there was WiFi and the signal was good. If there had been none I would have been shocked for this day and age not to have free internet access. The location is remote but exactly what we needed. Surrounded by greenery, lovely peaceful nature. Five mins walking distance there is a big park which unfortunately we didn't get to visit. We managed to visit the villages nearby and they were magnificent. For cyclists and hiking fans surely this is the perfect location. Amsterdam is about 1h 20mins away by car. There is a gorgeous village nearby called Giethoorn which is about 20mins drive. Absolutely worth visiting! Breakfast at the hotel was varied enough. There was different types of breads incl. fresh loafs, croissants, toasts etc. Cereal, fruit, jams, butters, eggs etc. Coffee was great! All in all we would gladly stay here again on a long weekend!

Perfect! We loved staying at this hotel. It has a very cosy restaurant and breakfast room, the staff are very friendly and the location was perfect for us to discover this part of the beautiful Netherlands (20 min to Giethoorn, 25 min to Urk). There are cycling paths starting from the hotel directly for those looking to ride the bike here. The rooms are comfortable and light with a large window and with a huge bathroom with both shower and bathtub. Great value for money!

The Property : Nice and clean , maintenance well. Sitting in the good location.. The surrounding atmosphere is calm and peaceful. The Food : Only breakfast is served while we are staying there, no dinner. Breakfast is good and plenty of varieties. The Staff : Jan and Kathinka have been amazing to us, friendly with warm hospitality and superb service. Specific case that our booked taxi does not show up on the date of checkout, Jan was so helpful in getting the new transportation arranged for us to ride back to Delft otherwise our holiday plan will be messed up. Please accept our sincere gratitude for all your help.

    We visited only for a weekend. Very nice city. Surrouned by atractions we wanted to see. We vistites nearby Giethoorn for a day. We have been too a local reaturant, that we liked. The streets in Blokzijl are quite narrow, but we had no issue with that. We very much enjoyed our stay in Blokzijl.

    Friendly service, simple but nicely decorated room, comfortable. We had a dinner in nearby Blokzijl and decided to spend the night here, just a very short drive away (could also bike or take a longer walk). The surroundings were lovely! Peaceful green and water. Would be a great place to rent a boat. We reserved breakfast onsite which was alright - some standard continental breakfast type offerings.

    Situated near Giethoorn, the place is ideal for a weekend holiday. The B&B is very charming, and the room we had was spacious and well designed. The Afrika theme is a plus point, and makes for a very unique, memorable experience. It’s not your average hotel room. The breakfast was also delicious and generous. The staff was friendly and relaxed.

    Beautiful location. Friendly and helpful hosts, dinner and breakfast delicious. Higgly recommend dinner in the restaurant. Very comfortable beds. We planned a day in nearby Geithoorn but were very happy we stayed in Blokzijl as it was a beautiful town well worth exploring. We had a lovely view of the old church from our room.
