This area is beautiful.
This area is beautiful. It’s much warmer than Noumea and has a real peaceful feel to it. People are much more friendly and helpful. We went on a snorkeling trip out to the reef and some of the best coral I’ve seen. The food at the Sheraton is amazing. Our room and all the things to do at the resort is all you need. The swimming pool area was great.
The swimming pool area was great. The main restaurant was not good. The fish was way over cooked. The lamb chop meal was horrible, it was like the chops had been cooked twice and were dry and over cooked. lamb is usually served pink in the middle. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, without exception. Speaking French is clearly an advantage. The hotel is very luxurious for New Caledonia, but you should expect a different standard than usual for a 5-star hotel. We especially liked the view from the veranda on to the lovely duck pond and the quite rural setting, but still so close to the main road.
