What a beautiful place my goodness. So much to do in the area - we would have definitely stayed longer to try out the different activities. Climbing the dunes at Sossusvlei was honestly the best day. It was beautiful and I can’t wait to be back!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

It was busy but still private enough not to spoil the overnight stay. The staff were very helpful in the shop. It was useful to have the fuel station as well. The supplies in the shop were adequate for the overnight stay and the location was convenient for Sossusvlei. The drive into Sossusvlei was fine but very crowded when we got to Deadvlei. We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance...
We stayed at the Desert Camp, not far from the park entrance gate. It was an easy drive to the park, and the 60km of wonderful tarred road to the 2 wheel drive car park. This gives access to Dig Daddy dune and Deadvlei. From here the park vehicle took us to Big Momma dune, and also goes to Hidden Vlei. All very easy. Dune 45 is 45 km along the road. The bus cost 180 Namibian dollars in October 2023. Wear runners to climb the dunes and walk to Deadvlei. Har, sunglasses and water are essential. We ate at the restaurant inside the park gate. Good and affordable. We bought our water at the shop there. Breakfast at the Sossusvlei Lodge was good too. I would recommend paying extra for tyre and glass insurance when picking up your rental car. Prior to coming to Sesriem, we had a flat tyre far from anywhere and Hertz directed us to a lodge with tyre repair services. We had to go on to Outjo to get the fixed tyre replaced, but the insurance made it less of a concern.Guest review byStevenIreland - 10.0
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth.
Best place to experience the oldest desert on earth. Wonderful place to spend time with. At least you need to stay 1 night inside park to make sure that you can go to Deadvlei early in the moring. I loved the dunes, but we should have got there a bit...
I loved the dunes, but we should have got there a bit earlier in the day for the best photographic opportunities. We stayed at We Kebi Lodge which was exceptional value for money, and I would have loved to stay there for a longer stay.Guest review byGail-SSouth Africa

A little bit far from Sesriem, but unbeatable regarding the landscape and the animals. Rhinos, Zebras and other animals coming to the water whole in front of the sect of the main building. Just amazing, Out of Africa feeling. Staff, Steven and his wife were very nice and helpful. 3 sweet cats belong to we kebi as well. Drive to main entry of Sossuvlei takes 1 hour, more or less. Room is big, but one can hear the neighbours through the wall. Dinner buffet is very good too. The hotel offers also tours to visit the Deadvlei and dunes. The room is large and airy and has air con which is a must! We rented the utensils box and made our own food. The box had everything we needed. The shop at Engen, 5 minutes drive is very well stocked for most things you need. Swimming pool was perfect to cool off in.
