Lovely new hotel. The location in the old town was perfect - just behind the square, and a few blocks from Olas Atlas beach. Everything was clean and new and stylish.

I loved everything about this hotel. The breakfast was great, with a decent options. Central location with plenty of restaurants nearby . Easy access to the Malecon de Mazatlan and Plaza Machado. All the other major attractions are a short walk away. The staff was wonderful and very helpful.

The room was near the elevator and stairway. Drinking water daily and a single serving coffee maker in the room. Nice city view. Ample plug-ins. Comfortable bed and plenty of pillows. Room safe. Great water pressure. Walking distance to many great cafes and restaurants. There are plenty of galleries and activities within a few km.

We were on an eclipse tour with my fiancée’s undergraduate group, completed that organized segment of our time and wanted to move away from the Americanized hotel area. So, as I did in the 1970s, I sought out another tegion of Mazatlan. The hotel was excellent and we were told of two superb nearby restaurants.

Set in Mazatlan, Raíces de Mar is located in a 19th century building, recently remodeled.

The term boutique could have started because of a visit to Raices De Mar (roots of the sea). It is so unique with original art throughout the hotel that seems born of the structure that holds the building together. Combine that with a restaurant which truly brings you food taken from the region and adapted creatively to fit the vibrant scene of the old city of Mazatlan. The rooms provide all that you need. They are clean, artistic and well cared for, this is not a Hilton or a Holiday inn it is truly Mexico so if there's something extra you need all you have to do is ask. Stepping outside the front doors of the hotel, you will find the Machado, the celebration square of the Old City and a vibrant melting pot of artists, performers, families and couples with something to celebrate. As you venture further out, you will find the best that Mexico and Mazatlan have to offer with restaurants, art galleries, gift shops and always a performance to behold. I came for 4 days and extended for another four and maybe even more... Enjoy
