    We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it...

    We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.

    lovely shopping complexes, boutiques, restaurants, and supermarket if you are self catering. Great place to tour around, for a heli-copter ride in the south to see the underwater waterfall, and go to the Ebony Forest

    The Riviere Noire area is quite busy and urbanised so it isn't a great location if you want to "get away from it all". However, it has some fabulous restaurants, cafes and bars along with useful shops Bed and breakfast hotel tariffs are a great option since you sample superb Mauritian cuisine away from the hotel. It is also a great location for visiting the Black River Gorge. The beach is OK but the stunning beaches at Le Morne and Flic en Flac are each a 15 minute drive away. Bonne Chute restaurant is excellent Also highly recommended - the cafes at Vanilla Village and Kumba

    Superb accommodation and gorgeous, varied, generous breakfasts. Room large, bed comfortable, constant hot water for shower and usefully quiet air-conditioning. With a car the new Albion Shopping Centre (only with a supermarket open when we visited) is a mere minute's drive away and the beach a few minutes further. To top it the hosts are wonderfully hospitable. Accommodating and offering assistance at all times. Hope to be back next time we're in Mauritius.

    We came to be close to our family who were staying in a hotel in Le Morne. So we were mainly looking for a place to sleep and not so much to enjoy the facilities. The appartment is spacious and clean and the beds are really comfortable.

    Eliza's attention to detail is something I wish more hosts would make more effort on, just as she did. The home is cozy as the name states and the decor is beautiful. I would exclusively stay here when in Mauritius next time.

    Very beatiful hotel on perfect location. They upgrade our room which was very kind. Clean and cosy, good breakfast, nice stuff. There are some restaurants and sops around. Pleasant beach with wonderful view on Le Morne.
