Tana has certainly nice area’s, but the center is very crowded and dirty. Not the prettiest place we have been, although the Kings palace (north of Tana), queens palace, marche artisanal de la digue are worth visiting. I spent two days in Tana.
I spent two days in Tana. The first day, I rested in my room, by the pool, got a massage and relaxed on the balcony at sunset. Then I chatted with the friendly staff at the bar until bedtime. Antananarivo is what it is.
Antananarivo is what it is. Which is to say dirty, dusty, noisy and overcrowded. Lots of beggars. Traffic moves at speed of molasses when it’s moving at all - there are no traffic lights, some intersections have traffic cops but they appear to be ignored.
