The room was clean and comfortable and was within close proximity to the safari and other attractions. What really struck out to us were the hosts, they are so hospitable and welcoming and went far beyond expectations in every way from showing us around the sugar cane fields to guiding us on the safari. They welcomed us into their homes and showed us how to cook traditional meals and we ate in the alfresco style restaurant that they said they’re soon to open. Once the restaurant opens I have every faith that it will flourish as the food was delicious! The hostel was brilliant, the hosts are exceptional! -check out the elephant transit hotel where orphaned elephants are fed (amazing experience!)

Our stay at Leel's Cottage was nothing short of perfect! The cottage was charming & cozy, offering all the comforts of home in a tranquil setting. The garden's surroundings were peaceful, with stunning views that made every moment special. The hosts were warm and welcoming, ensuring that every detail was taken care of - Especially Leel's mom, will treat you like your own mom! We also loved the food and the thoughtful touches, like the fresh flowers. If you are also interested in Safari, look for no other! Leel, is a truly experienced guide and his eagle eyes will spot all kind of animals, birds & flowers. Overall it was the ideal getaway, and I can't wait to return to for another relaxing stay! Everything! Possibly the best customer service I’ve ever experienced- and I’ve travelled a lot. Everything was clean. Food was amazing - be sure to eat all meals here if you can. An outdoor shower was a real highlight too. The family could not do enough for us. They even came along on the safari tour with us in case the guide didn’t have good English. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This was one of our favourite places we stayed on our entire trip! The cabins are extremely comfortable and have beautiful views of the river, we loved spending our evenings sat on our balcony watching the birds and monkeys. The host is extremely helpful, make sure you book a safari through him! Food was also fantastic.

Vimanra resort was an oasis of beauty, just outside of Udawalawe town. It is perhaps the nicest place our family of five has stayed in, made accessible by its reasonable prices. We really loved the huge family room, and the triple room was also well appointed. There are two big highlights to this property. The first is the host, who was very helpful in arranging a great safari and onward transportation for a reasonable price, and who added touches of luxury to the meals and rooms. The second is the wonderful property, with an infinity pool surrounded by trees where birds play, and looks out to the river beyond. The porch was the ideal spot to linger during a meal to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our kids were disappointed that our stay wasn't longer! The rooms had everything we needed for a great sleep. The location away from the main road meant that it was peaceful and quiet, and we had no reason to go to town because we ate the delicious food at Vimanra. Highly recommended.

    Very friendly staff gave a warm welcome. The welcome coffee was the best time of my life. Not only that, I was surprised because the pool was so clean and beautiful. And another best option is that my friends also went on safari with them so we organized the safari with them. The driver is very friendly and has 10 years of experience. Thank you for everything.

    This place is one of my favorites in Sri Lanka! It was such a beautiful surprise! Calm area, very nice outdoor setting, the room was very spacious (as was the bathroom!) So let's talk details: - Food: Amazing! Home cooked food, with candlelight and the sounds of nature! - Safari: He was a very good company during my trip! He gave me some tips, was very flexible with my requests. - Helpfulness: Arranged a taxi to my next destination, Overall, it was totally worth it, you will really enjoy it! !

    Where to start... We had a wonderful stay!

    Where to start... We had a wonderful stay! Our host Ravidu is a very kind man, he welcomed me and my girlfriend into his family. We will forever be grateful for the special memories created there. His wife cooked us delicious traditional Sri Lankan food at night. Thank you very much ☺️ The bed is extremely comfortable and the room is spacious and very clean. It was nice to have a place to hang out on the terrace. There are many beautiful plants around the property that give it a jungle feel. We saw many tropical birds around. I 100% recommend booking a safari through Ravidu, he partners with a guide with many years of experience. The safari guide was knowledgeable about the animals and different species we saw on the safari. He was very respectful of the wildlife and drove slowly through the park unlike other jeeps..!!

    The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking...

    The location of the cottage is fantastic, within walking distance to Udawalawe Handhi. The room is beautifully designed with huge glass windows to appreciate nature. Very clean. The host welcomed us warmly, and I must mention: this is where we had the best breakfast in Sri Lanka. It was provided to us for free.. Thank you!

    We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House!

    We really enjoyed Ravidu Safari House! It is located about 5 minutes from the entrance of Udawalawe Park and is in a beautiful location among the trees. The manager Ravidu and his wife were very friendly and organized a wonderful safari for us to the park. We saw over 50 elephants and other animals, so we had a great time. Our room at the hotel was large, comfortable and very clean. We also had a lovely dinner at the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to do a safari in Udawalawe.

    The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet.

    The accommodation in this place has magical peace and quiet. The cabin is clean, air conditioned. Our host in the main building prepared us excellent Sri Lankan food. He is a wonderful, smiling and funny man with a wonderful family. We decided to go on a safari, which he helped us organize. As promised, our guide spoke good English and was able to identify animals that we would not have seen on our own. We highly recommend this place!

    Actually wonderful stay at this lovely little hotel. When we arrived we were pleasantly welcomed by staff. This place is very close to udawalawa national park. Our room was very clean with comfortable beds and bathrooms. The next morning we were served delicious sri lankan breakfast. While our stay was short and it was very memorable. We watched elephant's and many of birds...Great value for money. Just a few minutes walk to the Elephant Orphanage,

    I chose to stay here while visiting Udawalawe National Park. The hotel staff were very welcoming and attentive always asking if there was anything they could do for us. Our Safari was organised through them which I highly recommend doing. We were offered bicycle rentals but ran out of time on our busy schedule. We were two female travellers who felt safe during our stay.

    We had a really great stay. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. In addition, the breakfast was great and the dinner buffet offered delicious local dishes. The hotel is located in a small village with friendly local residents and is just a short drive from Udawalawe National Park. Definitely a hotel we would recommend.

    We booked the Mansala Safari house to do a safari in Udawalawe National Park. The owner and his family are very friendly and helpful, they made sure you have everything you need. The homemade dinner was THE BEST dinner we had in our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka! The room had a nice balcony where we could sit, read and watch the monkey play in the garden.
