This is an gems in this snow town. The hotel is old but nice old one with great manage. There're 3 onsen in this hotel !! I use all of them and very satisfied. The dinner banquet is really great, many many choice of food that i cant eat all of them and also delicious I will visit again next time .

Good location and cheap. I was on a cycling trip and didn’t want to have to travel farther than Sounkyo Onsen. All the nicer hotels were booked. So I booked here but then paid for a day pass to use the Onsen at one of the nicer hotels. Room was comfortable and had a nice view of the River. Room was spacious. Staff was nice.

A 5-minute walk from Sounkyo Bus Terminal, Sounkaku features hot spring baths, a sauna and 4 restaurants. It offers Japanese-style accommodations.

Breakfast was great. Location was ideal, close to transport, access to cable car, hiking, & restaurants. I very much enjoyed the outdoor spa with the mountain views, a beautiful setting to enjoy the hot springs! Both outdoor & indoor spas were very clean & well organized with lockers.

It was a quiet location, yet walking access to several excellent dinner options. The Japanese bagel breakfast in the cafe downstairs was good and convenient. Easy place to recharge.

The room was great, the spacious living room with smart TV was amazing surprise and helped pass the downtime between hiking. The buffet, while rather modest, was very good and each dish was delicious.

The dinner was absolutely amazing and way too much food for anyone but a sumo wrestler to eat. Very high quality it was great.
