Loved the Bell tents, well laid out. Warm and cozy. Comfortable. Not to far from the main building, but far enough away to have good privacy. A great overall layout on the property. Loved and appreciated the foot onsen after a day of hiking Nakasendo. We ordered dinner, and breakfast and both were yummy and very generous sizes.

stayed for 2 nights at this place and it was one of the best experiences on our 3 week trip to Japan. The house is owned by husband and wife who works at the place. We had the whole house to ourselves 2 people. The house is situated 6 km from town and is a traditional Japanese onsen next to a waterfall. We felt very welcome and the family went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The food was some of the best we had in Japan cooked traditionally by the fire in the house and served in the dining room. The family drove us forth and back to the train station, and when we went hiking on the Magome - Tsumago trail, and took us to the festival in the town. If you are in for a real Japanese experience- we can’t recommend this place enough.

Friendly staff. Room was big and had it all. Onsen was amazing. Food and the small diningroom (shizuka) was so nice to have when traveling alone. Most relaxing place during my three weeks in Japan.

The host was super friendly and our room was really large with comfortable beds and a projector to watch Netflix. For breakfast, it was possible to make some eggs. The house looked was traditional Japanese which was really nice.

-One of the most beautiful accomodations we have ever stayed worldwide (and yes we travel a lot and woften upper scale) -Exceeded the expectations. The place was recently renovated and the output was really impressive focusing on all little details -Location was also great as the accomodation was on the hiking trail connecting tsumago and magome. The area of the accomodation and the nearby village is less touristy than tsumago/magome giving a more local offbeaten feeling path on the holidays -Lovely young hosts , you can see that they placed a lot of personal effort and work. The speak good english as well. - we have stayed in more than 5 accomodations in multiple places in our Japan trip. that was by far the best one. -Nice bathtub shower

This was a lovely property. Such a great location opposite the Nagiso Train Station, and on the Nakasendo Trail. Perfectly clean and tonnes of space. Fully equiped kitchen. Great communication from staff who kindly let us check in as soon as cleaning was finished and also gave us tips on where to eat. Very much recommended.

My sister had a 6mo and I was 27 weeks pregnant and we traveled here to explore the Kiso Valley and the Nakasendo Trail. We are from Tasmania, Australia and Hotel Kisoji was absolutely amazing accommodation, comfort levels, onsen provision and incredible delicious food. I would highly recommend Hotel Kisoji to anyone. They are so accommodating.

Nagiso itself is an unremarkable city, but the surrounding area, the so called 'Japanese Alps' is fantastic. One can visit Tsumago, a preserved ancient Japanese style village, where one can even book a ryokan with kaiseki (excellent Japanese style) dinner, for an overnight stay. The famous 'Nakasendo trail', a 10 km walk in gorgeous countryside, from Magome to Tsumago is a major attraction of the region. Magome can be reached by public bus from Nagiso or Tsumago.

Visited three areas this time: Narai-juku/ Tsumago-juku/...

Visited three areas this time: Narai-juku/ Tsumago-juku/ Magome-juku: all are very nicely reserved areas and the hotel is located close except for Narai-juku (70km away). Had a 100% Soba twice at lunch nearby : both are very good. Dropped in several Michi-no-Eki and bought local foods and items at half of them.
