Our family had an unforgettable stay at Nikis Resort in June 2023. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a truly breathtaking setting. Nestled amidst picturesque surroundings, Nikis Resort offers a serene and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The natural beauty of the resort's location left us in awe, with stunning views that created a sense of peace and relaxation. The accommodations at Nikis Resort were nothing short of exceptional. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and provided all the comforts we could have asked for. The attention to detail in the room's design and decor was remarkable, creating an inviting and luxurious atmosphere for our family. The resort's amenities were outstanding. The swimming pool area was a favorite spot for us where we spent hours enjoying the refreshing water and the sun loungers provided. The on-site restaurant exceeded our expectations, serving delectable dishes made from fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The attentive and friendly staff ensured that our dining experience was always memorable. One aspect that stood out was the exceptional level of service we received throughout our stay. The staff at Nikis Resort went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and attended to our every need. Their genuine care and attention to detail truly made a difference and enhanced our overall experience. Additionally, the resort offers various activities and excursions, allowing guests to explore the natural beauty of the surrounding area. From hiking trails to cultural tours, there was something for everyone in the family to enjoy. We cannot recommend Nikis Resort enough. It is a true gem that offers a perfect blend of luxury, tranquility, and attentive service. Our family retreat here was truly unforgettable, and we are already planning our next visit.

This idyllic place is like finding a long lost family. Elisabetha and Marcello are the most perfect hosts and their home is wonderful. We were spoilt tasting their home grown produce. Wine, olive oil and a variety of preserves. We didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this lovely place.

The property exceeded our expectations. You’ve got everything you need, and only a short drive from Umbertide where you can find supermarkets and restaurants. The terrace was amazing, the sun rises on one side (bedroom window side), and sets on the other side. There’s a bbq outside, which I wish I had time to use. Kitchen facilities, ironing, washing machine etc. you name it and it’s there. Paolo was great. Private parking space was really helpful. If you need a place in Umbertide, don’t think twice, just book here. If I ever come back to Umbertide then I would have to come back here, no questions.

    Montone is a pretty village. It is beautifully kept.

    Montone is a pretty village. It is beautifully kept. The church and monastery of St Fransesco are worth seeing but only open Friday to Sunday. We also saw the College Church. Otherwise there are a couple of restaurants and one cafe that serves beer, pizza and good ice-creams. We were lucky enough to catch an open air concert in the old castle one evening, but there are no shops and little else to do.

    I recently had the pleasure of returning to Montone, a picturesque hilltop village in the Umbria region of Italy, and I couldn’t recommend it more. This medieval town is like stepping back in time, offering a peaceful and authentic Italian experience that’s hard to find in the more tourist-heavy areas. Montone is full of charm, with its narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses, and stunning views over the surrounding Umbrian hills. The town feels incredibly well-preserved, with centuries-old architecture that transports you to a simpler time. It’s the perfect place for a quiet getaway or a romantic retreat. The locals are welcoming and proud of their heritage, which adds to the warmth and character of the town.

    A stunning small town with a beautiful heart. Every restaurant there is a gem with delicious food that will leave you craving more. The views are magnificent and the charm of the paved streets of flower-adorned stone houses is irresistible. The people of Montone are welcoming and generous.

    We have been to Montone twice now after falling in love with...

    We have been to Montone twice now after falling in love with the medieval town. It’s worth a visit for a day trip- it’s a jewel of a hilltop medieval town with cobbled streets and 360 views of the countryside. The best part about it is the food - fantastic restaurant on the piazza which also has a bar that serves pizza and piadina (recommend mozzarella/tomato/ruccola for a satisfying lunch). All the restaurants have great Umbrian wines (Montefalco Sagrantino Trebbiano Grechetto). On the other side of town is Erba Luna which serves fine dining at good prices. It’s unique in being situated within the fortified walls which is a great experience. If you want views Erba Luna has a terrace or Verziere is also good. Last but not least Locanda is truly excellent - a Michelin star restaurant serving Umbrian cuisine and staff creating a very welcoming atmosphere. They have a second menu (Tipico) which has more humble food which is also excellent.

    Beautifully restored and tastefully presented. Bathroom and kitchen excellent condition in a contemporary Italian style. Comfortable bed with white bed linen. Sun is on the balcony in the afternoon. I haven’t found any in this area to this standard. I was pleasantly surprised by the buzzyness of village life. It’s all happening in the main square. It looks exactly like the photos when I booked.

    Great location in Montone. Easy access from the town gate, an easy walk to the square for an excellent coffee, beer, snack or Pizza at Aries Cafe. Showers are large, plenty of hot water, washing machine is great, large refrigerator. There are dogs, but they are quiet after 6 pm...and not an issue for long otherwise. A wonderful place to stay! Grazie Paola. Beds are good!

    I was charmed by the hotel and the hospitality of the owners and staff. On my request vegan options were specially provided for breakfast, which made me feel really cared for. The view from my room was spectacular. What can I say, I loved everything about my stay in Montone and hope to back next year!
